Did you know that you can check out source code for things Purism works on (such as Librem One applications and bits relating to the upcoming Librem 5 smartphone) right from source.puri.sm?

Source code should be Free.

That's just how we roll.

@agx has me excited the Librem 5 by playing quake2 on the devkit! It doesn't take much to get me excited about this phone.

@skynebula @purism WOW this is old news. They have fixed the issues with the inactive trackers left in by matrix, fixed the vulnerabilities, offered the fixes upstream, and have been independently verified by multiple sources. Also, they where very open about every issue. The amount of transparency by Purism has been beyond verbose! I applaud them for the continued contributions to the FOSS community

@sir why not both? I preordered both but likely going to use the pine phone for distro hopping and the Librem 5 will likely stay stock for my daily driver.

Looking at open source motor controllers for my electric motorcycle conversion! Research phase.

No fix it tickets in my queue, 9 hours worth of meeting, and still closed 18 tickets to enable new features. All quite on the digital front.

@kyle Smart thinking! I used to have to travel 1200 miles a few times a year for work. Driving enabled to bring my family in tow too!

After a string of delayed/cancelled flights where I realized I could have gotten home sooner by car, I've made a personal rule that if driving is a real option, I take it. I bypass all the security theater, can pack what I want and am in control of my own departure times.

@pkimpton installed it from the AUR, going to but it through it's paces tonight! Thanks for pointing it out!

@gbryant If you need any help with your newest endeavors in spreading FOSS, I am ready to help. Server admin/DevOps with a long record of sometimes getting things right. Just want to help the cause and you, if you need/want it!

WFH today and possibly tomorrow. Hearing the kids playing in the backyard while I am working from the porch. I need to get back to this permanently.

So hard to replicate encrypted traffic by sniffing. Smart idea would be to just look at the open source client.

@pkimpton The bloat is real. Even crazier, I think all that wasn't shipped with the phone. I bet LG sold out the user that haven't upgraded yet. Anything for a buck...

Solid read on QubesOS (links below). Considering putting it on my backup server just for testing. It seems to be a good testing ground to put a second PostgreSQL and drop it in a VPN and/or Tor. Some VPNs allow ports to be open in certain locations. Playing with replication methods in PostgreSQL today.
