My solution to that was learning to cook myself — never looked back.
Not being afraid of knives might be even worse though. I love my santoku knives and my blades are usually really sharp — but I'm extremely precise 😎
If someone else comes to my kitchen I prefer to put them away — no, I'm not afraid of blood, I just don't like it being splattered all over my kitchen table 😅
@mushroom_soup @Eiswald

@yukiame
My smart home system that I've built myself (of course it's based on linux!) would throw me back at them through the broken window 🤣

@billOfEarth42
Unfortunatelly, those who keep living under a dictator (and what's even worse, keep working for the dictator), never learn — that's precisely why they keep living under (yet another) dictator 😩

> after criticizing Putin's war effort for being too weak
Probably even that isn't the real reason, he's been calling it too weak well since late last spring, yet he had been still kept alive and free.
Either this rhetoric is no longer considered safe after Prigozhin's "mutiny" or something else altogether 🤷

>A live-action Barbie film was announced in September 2009 by Universal Pictures with Laurence Mark producing, but development began in April 2014, when Sony Pictures acquired the film rights to the character. Following multiple writer and director changes and the casting of Amy Schumer and later Anne Hathaway in the titular role, Sony lost the rights, which were transferred to Warner Bros. Pictures

Damn! Amy Schumer Barbie move… This is what they took from us 😭

@psychictides
I'm usually not a fan of Margot Robbie, but I've seen a few stills from the Barbie movie and she looks amazing in those. I've even thought about watching it at some point, but then I just forgor about it 🤪

Is it real or made out of paper like this here pig: social.linux.pizza/@fcktheworl
A-ah, nevermind, it's really cool anyway 😄

@Eiswald Sure, it's not the end of the world and not the reason to hate your wife for, but I find this attitude a bit ironic, it's like a female counterpart of male: "Sure, I could've kicked that asshole's butt alright, but this time and only this time I've decided to run away as fast as I could" 😂
@mushroom_soup @dew_the_dew

@Eiswald
I don't agree with general stance, but when it comes to cooking in particular — 100% matches my experience. The worst part — it's perceived as something to be done only on special occasions: "My cooking can be really good, but…", "Okay, didn't work so well this time, I don't do it often, hehe"
No, it's not something to be done to only make other person happy, it's a great everyday idea, sure, we can have fast food, but it's not "okay", and I can cook too 🤷
@mushroom_soup @dew_the_dew

@mushroom_soup I've replaced the virgin olive oil in your salad recipe with lard, and you know what? It didn't taste that good.
I like your website, but can you cook at all — doesn't seem that way to me, that salad was horrible 😂

@vriska
> hello kitty does not like knives or xanax
Yeah… First this and what are you going to tell me next, that Santa doesn't exist? 😼
@fieldofdisarray @scathach

@lowqualityfacts
Marlowe had one too — that is how they've figured out they were the same person 🤓

@cohomologyisFUN I'm saying cyclists, but people using roller skates and electric scooters are also part of the problem, I see no problem with them in rural areas, but in big cities without properly organized dedicated infrastructure for such activities they are an absolute menace. It's truly sad that it's another reason to have the state involved, but there should be a mandatory set of rules for them — not as strict as for car drivers, but at least some rules.
@mbonsma @ostrich

@cohomologyisFUN
Lower death toll, significantly lower than pedestrian one in car accidents might seem like a valid point, but it's not. That doesn't make me feel much safer around them — it's about perceived, not statistical safety. Also it's usually not a big problem to hold the driver responsible, with cyclists it's in most cases: "Good luck with that".
@mbonsma @ostrich

@cohomologyisFUN Car-centric culture has nothing to do with it, I come from non car-centric culture and I'm a pedestrian myself most of the time and yet I hate cyclists with passion.
The infrastructure might differ from country to country and even from city to city, but cars and pedestrians on average are a lot better separated, cyclists move where they see fit and, not everyone is like that of course, but there are A LOT of total assholes among them.

> architectures and subarchitectures that do not support Rust
Do they exist? Has to be something really marginal — Go is really bad at it, but Rust — I have an impression that you can build it for nearly anything 😄

@kirby
101% made up, they just want to trick you into "hanging on a little bit longer" 😏
@greentext

@Mojeek Sorry, I didn't express appreciation for your sense of humour enough last time. Kept laughing at kingfisherfind.com for the rest of the day 🤭

@Mojeek Can you also add bang shortcuts like that buoyant birdie engine has, like: "!w something" to look up "something" on Wikipedia, I know most browsers have search plugins nowadays, but some don't and it still may come extremely useful, I can have Mojeek as a sole search engine, but use others just in case by applying prefixes. I don't think that it's a huge hit on traffic either so why not?
