I assure you, nothing of value was lost — I had this MediaTek adapter in my old HP laptop, I had to rely on dkms to use a newer patched module not in the mainline kernel for it to work — and even with that it remained very flaky. I've replaced it with Intel one — 7260 I think. It came with Intel Bluetooth adapter, which also works way better than MediaTek one ever did, supports wireless AC and 5 GHz networks.

I'm not a native speaker, but I think rabbits work in English too, at least there is an eponymous song by Unkle featuring Thom Yorke on vocals that was pretty popular back in its day:: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEqGdGAgAjw

But otherwise mature democratic institutions aren't so easy to dismantle given limited time — losing presidential election is no reason to despair and quit, I have faith in American society — so should you!
@catsrule0000
I can totally see where this is coming from, but don't be so pessimistic — people fall for populism everywhere, but in Russia — way more than in countries with mature democracies. People here fall easily for the promise of "benevolent dictatorship" we simply never had democratic traditions — in the US there would be long-term consequences, e.g. Supreme Court appointee of Trump won't magically disappear when he leaves the office…
@ozzelot
This is WD Scorpio Blue by the way, WD3200BEVE-00A0HT0 to be precise — lasted over a decade in a machine that's on nearly 24/7, even transmission-daemon reports 2103 days of uptime and I'm pretty sure I had to reset that counter at some point.
Can definitely recommend!
@ozzelot
I wasn't exactly rich myself — fresh out of uni, I think this was my first "real" job, outside of uni and myriad of odd sidejobs before that 🤔
But as they were already being phased out in favour of SATA drives I could foresee that they would become more rare and probably more expensive.
I have to admit that this hard drive turned out very resilient — my Mini wasn't always resting on top of the cabinet like it does today and has seen the world well outside my place — it lives on!

😏
Hardly possible!
@p
Sure did! It was more of a rhetorical question though 😅
Anthropomorphisation of FBI as a cute girl makes what they do more… acceptable.
@jeffcliff
> Despite not even being able to build it myself, due to you lying about being FOSS.
I'm mildly interested in how exactly are they lying about being FOSS? 🤔
@glennsills @lowqualityfacts
On the other hand, they might be just hiding it from us with CGI 🤓
@ozzelot
Yeah, I got it in the late 2000s when they were still more or less current. Nowadays they are nearly impossible to find — even the used ones.
@ozzelot
I have plenty, but they are all 20 or 40 gigabytes, as they were snatched from old ThinkPads 😅
My olde PowerPC MacMini has 320 gigabyte laptop size (2,5", is it?) hard drive which I bought when the 80 gigabyte one it came with died — if this one goes south, I doubt I'd be able to replace it ever — not sure they still make them, I've seen IDE SSDs being sold, but they are disproportionately expensive, would probably make more sense to use a converter.
@romin
Well, aren't THOSE enjoying their duck since yesterday already? 🤔
Yes! It’s arrived. Can’t wait to get stuck into this.

I'd still prefer an incendiary munitions strike, but a fundraiser to buy it out and shut down its development is also acceptable.

Who dared humanise the CIA? That's repugnant and absolutely unacceptable! 😤

Just in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
