@newt
From what I read, due to some rather recent changes, it has really bad performance/power consumption issues on some hardware.
Also having support for your network adapter is nice — I don't expect everything that works in Linux to work in OpenBSD.

True for other TUI software: gomuks, tut, w3m are the ones I use often. I've also hacked amfora to grab them so I can do some navigation with mouse, but it doesn't work too well 😅

@f0x
I did not imply you of course, it was just a non-sequitur Dick reference 🤪
I'm a huge fan of soy sauce myself — I use nearly no regular table salt, but I use soy sauce a lot!

Boost this toot if you're planning on sticking around Mastodon whether or not it's more popular than Bluesky.

@newt
Nice! Does it even come with Korn shell by default?
I'm definitely switching to OpenBSD once they port Wayland (wlroots) to it 😏

@newt
WTF is a GUI network manager? Does it exist, can it hurt me? 🤔

@piquant00
One of my cats is like that — originally he hated it, but at some point and for completely unknown reasons started enjoying it, now he attempts to get in there even when it's not his turn to visit the vet 😹

Like ripped out of chest? Cool! 😈

Antenna — an aggregator of what people post in Geminispace e.g. on their gemlogs (blogs): gemini://warmedal.se/~antenna/
Cosmos — another aggregator from the maker of Lagrange, here the posts are even structured as replies if that is the case: gemini://skyjake.fi/~Cosmos/

These should serve as a source of pointers for further exploration, have fun!

@Rhoseigh
Here are a few capsules (that's what sites are called in Geminispace) worth checking out:
Glossary — to help you familiarise yourself with other such terms: gemini://hanzbrix.pollux.casa/glossary.gmi
Station — a "social" Gemini thing, it was one of the first capsules of this kind and remains my personal favourite: gemini://station.martinrue.com/
BBS (aka Bubble) — another popular forum from the maker of Lagrange: gemini://bbs.geminispace.org/

@Rhoseigh
I might give you a few hints to help you around, grab a build of Lagrange for your platform here: git.skyjake.fi/gemini/lagrange
You can get Android build on F-droid and iOS version should be on TestFlight.
It's currently the most feature-rich GUI (and as of now it has a TUI/console/text interface too) Gemini browser — it also supports Gopher and some other "smolnet" (that's what we often call the parts not associated with "bigger" web and its technologies) protocols.

Hey #linuxmobile people.

Maybe you heard about my little #libobscura project.

Which phone should #libobscura support after #Librem5 ?

I'm looking for one which has the kernel drivers but cameras still don't work great.

#camera #PostmarketOS #mobian

@Rhoseigh
You might want to check out Gemini too if you didn't already: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gemini_(
It's considered a "spiritual successor" to Gopher and is heavily inspired by it, but in addition it's built with modern encryption, public-private keypair authentication and variable-width displays (the text can be reflown) in mind.

@santiago
It's actually kinda sad that it got political: less companies standing the the way between you and global Internet — less local regulations to follow, which might, depending on your country be bearable or absolutely godawful.
Until we find a way to build a global mesh network on top of something like LoRa, that's probably the best we can do.

@millihertz
And that is why you at least always make shallow clones 😏

@Toxic_Flange
He's no longer a bull, he's dalek!
Best cosplay (by a bull) 10/10 😆
