I agree, but idiomatic code is in most cases more readable and easier to modify if you start adding things, you don't have to rewrite things from scratch often 😂
Well, in any case, this comes with experience, but a good book might save you some time. The one I have however isn't of this sort, on the contrary, it uses things you won't normally do with Rust as examples.

No, it's KEX, the engine they use for all the FPS remasters nowadays. I did like the way they did the original Quake remaster with it: it doesn't have any graphics enhancements like most opensource engines do and mostly retains the glquake look.

@gemlog
I've started using Rust for my relatively small utilities, but the language is so extensive, there are dozens of ways to do the same thing and I'm not always sure I'm writing idiomatic Rust 😅

Strike back and make HER some coffee!
That will show her! 🤪

Didn't mean to barge into your newsflow, you're doing one hell of a job, but… This is just too funny 😂
I'm currently reading a book about early investments into Russian and Ukrainian Internet sectors and there is a whole paragraph about how bad the barter was and how everyone was happy when it was left in the nineties. But certain geostrategician brought even that back now 🤦

@kaia
Conserving energy by utilising lubricant to reduce friction? 🤓

@rvps2001
Now they are looking into the options to transition to barter: reuters.com/markets/first-russ
That is exactly what bilateral trade between two great superpowers looks like in the new multipolar world! Pooteen's dream comes true 🤣

@kevinrothrock
Good post! But I will still report you to the alt.text enforcement squad. Not everyone can read this, now mostly forgotten language, you know 😜

You know things are bad in Russia when you have to resort to posting physical leaflets to fight Internet censorship. And you know it’s even worse when the anti-censorship heroes call themselves the “Union of Maoists of the Urals.”

@trdebunked
But that is beside the point, which is: neither China, nor Elon Musk are trustworthy 🤷

@trdebunked
Starlink for one is being used in Ukraine now, that's a rather extreme case, but it demonstrates the field of application quite well. Rescue teams use satphones during floods, fires, massive power outages, including in the areas where communication isn't available even under normal conditions. Having broadband Internet as an option? Why not, it's good! Of course it doesn't come without downsides, for one, space debris looks like a problem.

@trdebunked
Worse and more expensive than what, submarine communication cabling? I don't think that either of these two is supposed to replace already existing and reliable infrastructure in urban areas, same as satphones didn't replace regular cellphones, but they exist and are very useful where there is no infrastructure or when it goes down in case of emergencies.
