Would you rather buy space broadband from a billionaire, or Communist China?

I hate that South Park episode, but isn't this indeed like choosing from giant douche and turd sandwich? 🤔
@romin
What a week, huh? 🧓
My dudes! 🐸
@Tony
It's only good if everything works, it something doesn't it might take even a tech-savvy person some effort to fix it — they have made things too complicated. I suppose that is why Arch is so popular: a lot of these ad-hoc fixes are documented on their wiki.
@mre
Go became less portable since it became fully self-hosted, I don't want that to happen to Rust. On the other hand being buildable with LLVM 18, which is now only buildable with GCC 13 doesn't make it much better 😅
@kaia
Didn't Hitler hate people enough to hate even painting them, which made him more a landscape guy? 😅
@RomanticSkeptic
Right, looks almost human! But I suppose animals are harder to fool 🤭

Yep, llama probably can't do that hand gesture, but the situation is quite clear 😱
@ThatCrazyDude Yep, lifespan is usually the biggest problem. Because even well-known brand might surprise in unpleasant way, Plextor SSD I got for my laptop once died in like 7 months. The warranty covered it of course, but they were out of replacements so they have given me my money back and as it coincided with a significant price drop, I could get myself a server-grade Micron SSD instead — I didn't mind 😄
I'm still using it in a different laptop
@newt
Did she respond with: "What is even the point of being on the Internet if you do not act like a toxic cunt?!" 😆
@ThatCrazyDude The biggest problem with lesser-know brands in my experience isn't their specs, but the percentage failures being significantly higher, that is why in general I prefer to go with well-established brands for things like RAM, storage and batteries, unless someone recommends are particular product they themselves used and had a satisfactory experience.
I wonder what yours would be with this one — because the price is very attractive.
I've been wondering why the word "Oriental" is considered bad and "Asian" should be preferred for quite some time — because it doesn't sound racist to me at all.
Turns out it indeed isn't: https://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-tsuchiyama-oriental-insult-20160601-snap-story.html
It's just some bullshit that white people pursue in the US to overcompensate for racism towards black people 🤦
@kirby
Since I fixed opendoas to make it work even on Linux 2.6.x I no longer use sudo on any of my machines and stopped typing it by mistake 😁
