As much as I agree — it would be the right decision in the long run, I'm afraid it might attract unwanted attention to us Russians who can still more or less share their honest opinions at least here, it will also attract swaths of Kremlin astroturfing accounts in addition to the SPAM wave that is already taking place at the moment 😩

Another iteration of the #Meshtastic #LoRa gateway living permanently on my balcony:
RAK WisBlock base (RAK19007)
LoRa module (RAK4631)
Ethernet module (RAK13800)
PoE module (RAK19018)
8 dBi LoRa antenna
IP67 electric box
With the previous 5 dBi antenna I had successful links well over 30 km, let’s see how this one works 🤞

Puneet Chandok, Microsoft India and South Asia head, at an event this week:
"People say AI is overhyped, but I think it's not hyped enough. The next generation who will use this in the next few years will have a much higher bar on what technology can do for them. So how you build it for that generation, how you build it for that future will be really interesting to see. AI is truly a general purpose technology, which can change everything that we do," he added.

I'm lucky enough to be happily unemployed and I don't even know what it looks like. For me Teams is purely meme software that is known for being bloated beyond all reason. That considered, it being flawed security-wise is to be expected, I wonder if there would be any real world consequences.

@Tony @marine
Yep, sounds familiar! Mine also sits on one of my laptops — he knows for sure that it's absolutely off limits and never does that unless he wants attention. Some cats do it because laptops are often warm, mine does it even when the laptops's been off for hours and as it's aluminum, it might be even colder than surfaces next to it — still does it as he knows I would at least come to pick him up to put elsewhere — he's "smart" in all the wrong ways 😼
@Tony @marine
One of my cats never left my lap when he was smol — when we took him in he was living with 7 of his siblings and he wasn't used to being alone. Now he's 7 y.o. and it's slightly better and I have a second cat to keep him company, but he's still clingy at times. He also has a nasty habit of doing things he's not allowed to do if you ignore him 😹
@meduza_unshackled Good news, everyone!

Oh my god, that… thing! You should've CW-ed it! 🤣

For me it was the Dark Reader extension — once it happens the tab seems hung forever, but all the other ones keep working. For me the fix was to switch away from "Dynamic" filtering more to any other one.
Probably a different bug from yours as my issue seems to be unrelated to using the address bar, but still nasty and hard to pinpoint.

> Among them, Putin is holding himself out as an international champion of conservative Christian values
A former KGB who is literally never seen with his family. I wonder what exactly those values are in GOP's view? 🤔
I watched last year’s #Poland truckers protests with great interest since early 2023. I followed arguments of both Poland and #Ukraine, even though the latter largely ignored the protests until November 2023 when they turned into blockade.
The truckers’ protest was suspended in January, but we now have a second iteration of farmers’ protest with ongoing border blockade. The first one actually preceded the truckers’ protest in 2023, but was noticed by even less parties than the truckers’ one.
One qualitative difference to the current protest I’ve noticed was that the truckers generally avoided anti-Ukrainian slurs and often highlighted that they don’t intend to disrupt Ukraine’s war effort and they’re forced to protest by dire economy.
Right now we have a full spectrum of vicious anti-Ukrainian slurs, hate speech and flood of very aggressive fakes alleging various forms of filth accompanying Ukrainian food products. This new wave emerged very quickly and is accompanied by massive bot campaigns on commercial social media.
While I believe the original farmers’ and truckers’ protests weren’t directly inspired by Moscow, I have a very strong feeling that this one actually is. Russia noted a divisive topic that emerged organically and this time decided to fully invest its highly efficient information warfare to capitalize on it 🤷
@kravietz
AFAIR you also used to be a firm believer that the concern is genuine — but it doesn't look this way anymore as some agreements were reached, but the protest doesn't seem to tone down and at this point it indeed look like it's Kremlin orchestrated 🤷

And they are building this shit into Android too: https://www.theregister.com/2024/02/19/android_15_first_developer_preview/
There's a way to replace the system WebView implementation with Bromite and the likes, but it still looks like a much bigger problem to me.

Just in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
