@kirby Anyway, this was the last straw for me, I don't know how the quality could go down to shit that fast, these aren't the cheapest peripherals on the market, they aren't supposed to be replaced every other year. I still have Deathadder 3,5G and I think even Boomslang somewhere — the softer plastic is all bad, but both work perfectly 🤷
I used to hate Logitech, but now it's them for me, well, one of the mice I use is HP branded, but I know it's in fact made by Logi 🤪

@kirby I used to be a huge fan of Razer in general and Deathadder mice in particular, but first these two, then Lancehead, for which the didn't sell spare dongles and in which the battery had swollen on me, then Deathadder Elite — which was a very good mouse, way better built than Deathadder Chroma, but in a few years… Doubleclicks on LMK 😩
And I'm not even that much into gaming so this wasn't due to wear.
I did play SC2, but I gave up long ago — it was normal peripheral use.

Especially for original Blackwidow Chroma — it's a horrible keyboard, I still have somewhere. And it's rodent sibling, Deathadder Chroma — was absolute garbage, it didn't even last for two years for me 🤦

And I know that if I lose it, I'd have to change passwords to all accounts I've been using on it — that's it.
As for remote exploits — no, using F-droid or AOSP-based ROM doesn't make you less secure — as code is open, it gets audited by security researchers all the time, if some serious vulnerability gets discovered, it gets fixed in opensource SW too.

@Hawkmoon Experts talk about security all the time, but most users don't even follow security best practices and no amount of security measures built into their phone will make them 100% secure. I know that is I lose my phone, in theory, it would be possible to retrieve all data off it — and it's always best to assume that because it's a matter of how much effort one is willing to put into accessing your data: petty thief doesn't care about it at all, he just wants the device itself…

Well, it is less safe *in theory* but for other reasons — just because you have allowed apps to be installed from one more source, other than Play Store.
It all boils down to whom you trust more, I don't trust my phone's maker so I use an alternative ROM, bootloader of my phone is unlocked — which is a huge security no-no. I also don't really trust Google so my ROM doesn't have Play Store or Play services installed.

At first, I've thought that urge to check the phone had something to do with it so I no longer do that — doesn't help, I go straight back to bed, but I just don't feel sleepy anymore 🤷
