@useless_idiot No, I think people are free to have any beliefs, but we live in a secular society, major streets of the city sholdn't be blocked like that for people to pray and there are muslims who are perfectly fine with that and well integrated into modern society.
If all those people were Christians, I'd probably not be happy about it either.
@useless_idiot What are you talking about, Putin is just preparing to fight the liberal elites! Those are traditional values — just as traditional as values of those Taliban fellas. What can go wrong?
Seriously, I was a bit shocked to discover that some right wing westerners think of a KGB-man who was a member of a Communist Party, who is divorced and is never seen with his family and who has turned Moscow into this as some hope of white Europe 🤦
How fucked up is that?
@Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social @paulschoe @zekefeu
Doesn't look like guns had anything to do with it — just a police officer who was used to resorting to excessive force (he did it in the past): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Daniel_Shaver
This article might be biased, but it doesn't look that way to me. The police even made bold attempts to downplay what has happened by refusing to release bodycam footage and later rehired this man and didn't reveal that to the public.
Some seriously fscked up shit here!
@dcc @theorytoe Long lost wisdom, something like Dead Sea Scrolls — but rather Dead HDD Memes 😄
@fluffykittenspambot Several shades of grey — the normal version, with cats, not the Twilight fanfic 😹
@adiz I see a man with a plan! 😁
Getting stuff that isn't officially available in your market is always a gamble — if something goes wrong, even getting parts might be tricky. It's not that bad when you buy used — after all, it has already worked for some time for someone else and probably will continue doing so, but I'd be reluctant getting new devices like that.
@pancakes We need to solve that trolley problem… The right way 😈
@metallcorn
Да надо бы уже по-хорошему, хотя бы ради эвакуации. Но ведь это… работать надо 🤪
@moffintosh @lanodan @arh Oh, this is just an old thread! Sorry 😋
@moffintosh @lanodan @arh There is also Tootik with Gemini frontend: https://github.com/dimkr/tootik
But I've never tried actually using it. Maybe I should 🤔
@adiz
"Software formerly known as Calckey" 😂
Also, Prince died of a fentanyl overdose? Damn, I didn't know that! 🤯
@ipg But a negative number, what does it make those, unfollow requests? 🫢
@neural_meduza Ну вот это точно звучит как настоящая новость 😩
@adiz @natty @privateger The protocol itself is quite limited, but people have already started building upon that and there is Titan for bigger file transfers, it's probably too early to speak of getting rid of http, but theoretically even that is possible.
@adiz @natty @privateger
I don't think so, for me the web is what's built on http(s and /2 /3 — which were already bad) and certain stack of technologies, Gemini has its own.
I don't even think we need to get rid of http, maybe the /3 part, but not relying JavaScript heavily would already be good for starters, and especially stuff like WebAssembly — web was supposed to be just documents connected together by hyperlinks, not a platform for applications — and Gemini is just that today.
@oku_yama_old
@neural_meduza
@adiz @natty @privateger
It's quite possible even today. Gemini is fun too, I'm a lazy ass and don't post anything on my gemlog, but a lot of people do, there's stuff to explore already and now we have Bubble and station to liven things up. It's already fun and things will only get better, web is likely only get worse — it already does, why can't do anything new with it, we only get new bullshit 🤷
@adiz @natty @privateger
I think we'll just abandon the web at some not too remote point in the future and leave it to the corporate bullshit — there's no way they can make us use it.
It makes a lot things easier, lowers the hardware requirements by a magnitude. I'm typing this on my phone now, but I'm using Fedi daily on some very old computers with on 512 Mb RAM with tut TUI client — it's still an enjoyable experience: I can browse my timeline, I can reply, I can view images in external viewer
@gemlog I'd probably just print it to PDF again three times specifying different page ranges. Not exactly automation, but gets the job done 😅
@yukiame Wow! I don't even need Zuckerberg's help to subscribe to your Instagram 😁

Just in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
