@gemlog TBH it wasn't that hard — I already had all the development tools installed and Vim's build manual is rather thorough. A couple of hacks here and there and voila!
Why I did that is a more interesting question… I guess that is what happens when you are recuperating from having one too many drinks the day before😋

@dem I never was into Slackware and I think I've missed my train already, but xbps-src — Void's build system is really impressive IMO. Making a package for something new literally takes minutes if you know ins and outs. And cross-building is a matter of passing a parameter in most cases.
Debian's build system is hell even if it's backporting package to older Debian release. I can't imagine what it takes to write all these scripts/configs from the ground up 🤪

@curiousthinker Man, you are not going to believe what I did because I woke up early in the morning and was looking for something to entertain myself with!
I've built native Vim for ARM64 edition of Windows 11. On a phone! Damn, how did I end up here?🫠
My original intent was to set Pleroma up on my Void PowerPC box, but while stuff was building I've found this device lying around — and there I have it!
Even the transparency hack works with native DLL😊

@curiousthinker But it does one thing really well — makes you feel confused that is 🤣

You think I'm going to defend the FBI? Never!
No such cases that I know of, but I bet, stuff like that is reserved for some very special occasions that never make it into news anyway. Once you do it and everyone knows how it was done, all hell breaks loose and you can never use that again.
But you know with corrupt shit it's always "We can never do that, but if you really-really-really want to… fine!"
@SirPaulCouture

@neural_meduza

Exactly! Would arresting those on the Epstein list justify access to Twitter and political censorship? No! Would it solve the "~25% of kids have experience with sexual abuse"? Again no! According to what I know it happens mostly in domestic setting — it's either family members or close friends, whom kids know well.
These are three separate problems, lumping them together solves neither. And pointing this out doesn't make me a supporter of child abuse.

You have to spend a couple of hours on tweaking it to your taste, but you can actually make FF look nice!
I may have tweaked it even further since then, but here is what mine looks like on my laptop: social.librem.one/@m0xee/10870

Damn! My last job involved GIS and I admit, I still have never heard about some of the stuff from that XKCD strip 🤣
@mjdxp

@millihertz Oh, yes, I didn't realize streaming was important part of your setup.
You may run cmus on the host where the library is and stream the audio back using JACK to the computer where you want the sound to come from, but that would be a quirk and a workaround.
cmus does support http, but it appears that https might be a problem: github.com/cmus/cmus/issues/20

@SirPaulCouture
Your words: "…is not a real problem to you"
My words: "While still real…"
Isn't something slightly off with how you perceive my post? 🤔
What I stated was: children are often used as a justification for all sorts of wrong things. Something might be wrong or at least considered controversial, but if it's for the kids — it's alright. Thought isn't exactly new, yet it still holds.
@Knight_of_the_First_State

@neural_meduza
