This is also true, but too idealistic. It works only when everyone is conscious as extreme individualist. If someone else is using some tool and you are not, you're at a disadvantage. If a group of people unites and they are ready to use violence, we also have to unite to fight back.
Nation states exist precisely because they work. In some circumstances they are the lesser evil.
But healthy skepticism, if that goal really aligns to your interests, is always good.

I agree with a lot of this, but you can't deny that we can have common goals as people who live nearby, members of the same community, people of same interests, members of same sex, etc.
We can unite to pursue common goal.
You're right though, we should avoid others pigeonholing us into some artificial groups and you shouldn't be offended if someone doesn't want to pursue the goal you consider common

@schratze Exactly! All these companies are not your friends, they are not live persons — they can't get offended, you don't need to be loyal, they've got to earn it if you choose them. Do your worst!
The only mistake you can make is choosing something worse if your favorite brand/company didn't give you the best product. Post poor reviews online, harass the customer service, but do not convince yourself that the product from their main competitor is better just out of spite — very poor strategy.

The pills should only be used as a band-aid that allows you to adjust your lifestyle/environment/whatever not something you are going to take all your life. E.g. COVID caused anxiety in a lot of people, why turn your life into a nightmare when you can treat the anxiety?
I've seen a few cases of recovery when people either stopped taking pills or learned to depend on them only in case of emergency. It is possible, it's not always that bad.

There are a lot of cases when it turns into lifestyle and it's wrong. But it's the new thing, like you said, there is commercial interest — it's inevitable.
I believe society will adapt and learn not to overdo it.
If you only think of your survival these disorders don't exist as their influence is negligible, but if we want humans to be capable of high level activities, we've got to tend to it, pretending that there are no "brain chemistry disorders" gets us nowhere.
