Is it too much of a stretch to believe capitalism will lead companies to create new illnesses, they can then cure for profit?
COVID-19 is considered likely man-made due to it's gain of function properties, but unlikely to be intentionally released. However, it's effects will likely be studied for potential future profit possibilities.
"Is curing patients a sustainable business model?...While the proposition offers tremendous value for patients and society, it would represent a challenge for genome medicine developers looking for sustained cash flows." - New York:Equity Research, Goldman Sachs, 2018. Two right-wing hipsters spent six years making a documentary series for #HBO on 'anarcho'-capitalists living in a resort town in #Mexico. The first episode is centered around a right-wing crypto-bro anti-Semite who pushes conspiracy theories about COVID-19 and features clips from none other than Milo Yiannopoulos and Keith Preston, known for speaking alongside Richard Spencer at white nationalist conferences. Fuck this AnCap trash.

"the WHO used to be funded principally by [nation] states...(in 2020, about 70 percent of the WHO's budget came from private donations). Thus, the [private donors] can bypass the mediation of states and directly shape the WHO's policies." from Global Civil War: Capitalism Post-Pandemic by William I Robinson

As long as Microsoft is allowed to keep it's desktop monopoly, this kind of shit will continue.
Read the interview with Guido Günther, a developer at Purism, on how the free and convergent #PureOS system and the #Phosh graphical environment merge the phone and desktop experience into one, and how they benefit mobile device users.
Thanks to the kind work of our volunteer translators, you can also read it in Dutch, Italian, and Spanish.
