@krille Avatars don't seem to load though, neither they do on the linux desktop version.

@krille It's working for me on the PP with Manjaro phosh, installed via flathub. I can connect to my own homeserver without problems and send/read encrypted messages!

Awesome work!

#fluffychat 0.30.0 has been released today 🎉🎉🎉 with a big refactoring under the hood, a lot of bug fixes, better room alias management, minor design improvements, Linux desktop notifications aaaaaaaand Linux arm64 support. 🐧

In theory it should run on #pinephone or #librem5 but I have no device to test it. Anyone here who wants to try and send me screenshots? 🙂

There is currently a campaign that tries to raise money to improve #Anbox (an Android emulator) on #ubuntutouch.

#Volla has already donated a thousand Euros to kick things of and the campaign has raised 1500€ 💸 so far.

This is a good start, but they need at least 6000€ to hire a freelancer 💻️.

If you are a #FOSS or #Linux enthusiast, please consider donating and help to make #linuxonmobile happen.

"Police are warning students and universities not to access Sci-Hub, an "illegal website" that allows users to download scientific research papers normally locked behind expensive subscriptions."

Very bad indeed. That name again: Sci-Hub. Remember it so you can avoid it. Ahem.

We should never forget that A. Elbakyan's life became *very* complicated because she created this tool.

I am thankful to her, but very angry at colleagues of mine who use her tool but keep publishing their works at publishing houses that use expensive paywalls and sued (or could have sued) A. Elbakyan for breaking them.

F*** knowledge economy!

If flatpaks ask for location service access can now handle that as a agent (which became useful after fixing that for recent kernels using cgroupv2 (gitlab.freedesktop.org/geoclue):

@purism

A corporation will do an ostensibly good thing only if it helps it extract more value from you.

A government will regulate corporations only if it helps further its power over you.

It's by necessity we rely on either depending on the situation. Neither of them deserve trust however. Corporations and governments are NOT your friends and they won't hesitate to team up against YOU if it helps their common bottomline. Which is less for you and more for them.

#FOSDEM succeeded to run a online conference with over 8000 participants with completely #FreeSoftware (#OpenSource).

Big thanks to the #FOSDEM and the #Matrix team!

With an emphasis on Facebook, I today closed the final piece of my traditional social media accounts: Instagram. Feels a bit sad, but I know it's good for me.
