We are absolutely thrilled to announce that @PINE64 is releasing a Mobian Community Edition of the #pinephone! This is a major milestone for our project, which started less than a year ago as a way to bring Debian to this
mobile device!
10$ of each device sold will be donated to @mobian. See more soon about this on our blog at
blog.mobian-project.org

Just some screenshots of Portfolio a file manager running on the Pinephone.
#Pinephone #Portfolio #Librem5 #Pine64 #LinuxMobile

Note: Portfolio is a really simple file manager that was developed mobile first with GTK/Libhandy. It still lacks a bunch of features I would like to have but it's in a somewhat early stage so those may come in the future.

The #PinePhone modem (yes, the modem) can now run Linux kernel 5.10 ( @postmarketOS )... we're sure many of you know where this is heading :)
Massive thanks to biktorgj, konradybcio and others.

"Hackers intuitively understand something many computer users don’t--ownership is not about possession, it’s about control...The illusion that Apple users have control over their computers was briefly disturbed this week..." puri.sm/posts/apple-users-got-

Me: I would like a different behaviour on my PC.

Mac: Well, let's hope Apple will implement that in a couple of years...

Windows: Not implemented, but here is some software from the internet. Wait, where did that virus come from??

Linux: Done

One of these is how computer should work, can you guess which one it is?

The allwinner kernel (#pinephone, #pinetab) was updated to megi's 5.9.1 tree in #postmarketOS edge. Lots of great improvements, including the long-awaited HDMI fix, improved call quality (thx smaeul!), and no 30s wait for modem on shutdown. @PINE64 gitlab.com/postmarketOS/pmapor

Thanks to the work of Samuel Holland, crust advanced power management is now capable of running the #PinePhone for 100hrs in idle without the modem (approximately 110mW). With modem on, we should get 40% battery run-time increase (to approx 24 hrs).
Coming to your distro of choice soon!

We know many of you are waiting for #PinePhone @ubports CE - it will be shipping very soon. Meanwhile, here are pictures taken the day production wrapped up. We're not going to spoil the phenomenal box design for this CE (by @cibersheep on Twitter) however, pictures don't do it justice.
