“Until a drag queen walks into a school and beats eight kids to death with a copy of To Kill A Mockingbird, I think you’re focusing on the wrong shit.”

I hope it's not just Google in this room: engadget.com/google-and-the-eu figuring out EC ground rules for AI. Please invite noncorporate experts.

@AlxndrJhn Yeah, I'm assuming this is justified on "security" grounds, using a "block it all by default and allow only necessary exceptions" approach. My question now is whether this is a default / encouraged filter rule...

re: Whatever you do, don't call it a "purse". It's a "men's shoulder bag". Got that?

Interesting, my mail to someone using Office 365 was rejected because .odt and .ods attachments are not allowed.

@pawandubey After further testing, it definitely hard starts after sitting for some days (< 1 week). And actual dried bits of ink came off the nib area -- never seen that before.

@iank nice compliment, thanks :) Interesting to think about what to do with that domain..

@pawandubey On mine, the cilp is okay, it's the knock on the back that is not attached flush. I haven't noticed the drying out, just tested with leaving it out for 30s - 1m and it worked okay. What ink do you have in it? It did take a hard start, though, to begin with.

Received one of the new Endless Creator retractable
a couple days ago.

Not a luxurious item -- feels...inexpensive. Also the knock is on crooked / bent / not flush to the barrel which is not a great look and leads to a weird noise when clicked. The hexagonal grip with the clip taking up a facet is a bold "there's only one right way to write" statement.

*But* the nib (most important part) exceeds my expectations and I'm enjoying writing with it. Inked with Robert Oster Whiskey.

I guess I'm happy they collected any fines at all from the companies who generated/funneled fake anti net neutrality comments, but what pathetically small amounts: engadget.com/fcc-blocks-roboca

I decided to leave my job (Principal Software Engineer) after 4 years. I have no idea what I want to do next, so I’ve been having loads of chats to try and work that out.

I like working in mission focused organizations, working to fix problems across the stack, from interpersonal down to the operating system. I enjoy “going where I’m rare”, places that don’t always get the most attention.
