ok role switching (OTG mode) actually kinda works now. you have to attach the usb cable twice for some reason but we can fix that...

ended up just copying the sm8250 implementation @0xB0D wrote and editing it for sdm845 and it just worked!

no PD yet either but that can come later (op6 doesn't support it anyway)

In preparation for the next #phosh release we've released #feedbackd 0.4.0 🎉 :

- Support `hw_pattern` on devices using qcom-lpg. This allows to keep LEDs on in suspend on these 📱
- Support RGB color mixing for multicolor leds
- Allow to use (camera) flash LEDs as notificaton LED
- Immediately end "too noisy" feedbacks when switching profile levels
- Internal cleanups and restructuring to cater for different LED types.

imagine you're not a trained cook, but you burned out on something else and you open a tiny vegan burger shop in a metropolis and you take great care of the ingredients and you have your special sauce but you share it with anyone interested in making the burgers at home. you have a small group of regular customers and even if you work 11 hours a day and the rent is really high you somehow make it work. 1/3

As "Guerras da Encriptação" na era digital já vêm desde os anos 70. O #ChatControl é apenas o episódio mais recente.

Em 2021 publicámos dois artigos sobre a história das #CryptoWars:

➡️A encriptação e a Internet

Diz-me que não percebes nada sobre encriptação sem dizeres que não percebes nada de encriptação 🤷‍♂️

AFAIK the current number of devices with somewhat working cameras is still short:
- #librem5
- #pinephone
- #pinephonepro
- #thinkpadx13s

However there was great progress to pave the way for more devices - and apparently the #pocophonef1 will be next, see fosstodon.org/@joelselvaraj/11

So looking forward to what this cycle brings :)

postmarketOS Now Boots on Over 250 Devices

Every year, as consumers gobble up the latest Android devices, more old, but perfectly serviceable, units end up collecting dust in drawers. Or worse, they end up getting tossed in …read more

Initially #feedbackd supported a set of color names (that matched the LED color) as multicolor LED support was still in the makings in the kernel. With the next release you can use arbitrary RGB colors (#RRGGBB). On single color
leds we still fall back to that color.

…and it helps on devices that don't have a status LED at all (in these case we can even tweak the device specific theme for that (e.g. to reduce the flash brightness):

#feedbackd uses the 📱's notification 💡 on events like missed phone calls, notifications, etc to alert the user.

Thanks to @dylanvanassche this now supports hw-pattern LEDs (currently for devices using the qcom-lpg LED driver found in various📱).

This doesn't only free the CPU from processing the blink patterns but more importantly allows us to keep the LEDs blinking in suspend so we have another missing piece in place to make suspend work nicely.

#wireplumber 0.5.3 has been released \o/

As a reminder: #wireplumber is the session manager and therefore the "brain" of #PipeWire. The later is intentionally kept simple, not handling anything policy related.

The version has one fix I'm particular happy about:
Fixed camera device deduplication logic when the same device is available
through both V4L2 and libcamera, and the libcamera one groups multiple V4L2
devices together.

gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewir

libcamera v0.3.0 has been released with new features, including the first version of SoftISP support for Qualcomm and (soon) the Intel IPU6.

The NXP i.MX8MP platform is now officially supported with its ISP.

Additionally, we have support for the new Arm Mali-C55 ISP with a dedicated pipeline handler, and MediaTek MT8365 in the simple pipeline handler.

New camera support includes Sony IMX283, IMX335, and IMX415.
