We've tagged version 0.0.5 of gmobile (a small library for glib based mobile Linux projects).

Among other changes it adds support for the #FairPhone5's notch and updates the #FairPhone4's information. This will help #phosh to handle UI element placement for these devices automatically.

Thanks @awai , @z3ntu and Jan Beich for the contributions.

See gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/g for details

Hello 🌏 ! This is #phosh's mastodon account. It'll have phosh's release announcements and posts/boosts of related projects. Looking forward to an interesting and bright Linux mobile future 📱 .

Uhh, now what kind of device could be running mobian there??? 😉

Is this @fairphone really a #FairPhone5 ?!

Piracy websites should adopt Midjourney's arguments on copyright:

"Look bro, it's just too hard to figure out what license governs each and every file and who its author is."

Let's just go ahead and automate all academic writing, grading, editing, and publishing. Publish every possible combination of words in every language, rendering all future writing plagiarism. Let the machine eat itself so we can be free to write how and what we want.

Whenever someone says that typing 26 letters on a terminal to install libreoffice:

sudo apt install libreoffice

is bad UX/UI

let that person try to setup office365 to see if they can do it in less time.

(Yes, I was recently asked setup office 365 on a device by one of the few persons from whom I would tolerate such a request; my nephew.)

And yes this is a rant.

phosh 0.35.0 is out 🚀📱:

Among other QoL improvements this fixes the suspend inhibitor when using your phone as a WiFi hotspot and gives more screen estate due to a narrow home bar (by mathew-dennis),

@agx

Gotta hand it to the Phosh team... y'all keep going from strength to strength!

Thank you for making such consistent progress in mobile Linux!

My advice to consider #security first when evaluating systems: changelog.complete.org/archive This is part of my decision to migrate my #RaspberryPi devices to running pure #Debian.

@dylanvanassche has done an incredible amount of reverse engineering work to enable sensor support for SDM845 devices in #postmarketOS! 🎉 🎉 🎉

The accelerometer (auto screen rotation), ambient light sensor (auto-brightness), and compass now work properly on phones like the #OnePlus6 and #SHIFT6mq! Amazing work!!!

just an opinion; for folks trying promote their free software projects.

You don't need to trash talk other/previous free software projects that exist(ed) in the same area in order to promote your project.

Can we just stop using Discord and go back to using forum sites?

I realize it's (comparatively) super easy to set up, but y'all realize it's just going to bite us all in the ass as soon as someone at Discord decides they need to turn up the profit ratio?

It's a ticking time bomb. The whole thing is going to follow the enshittification process, and anything of value on there is going to be lost/sold/destroyed.

Railway was accepted into #Debian today ! Thanks to @awai for packaging most of its dependencies. This #GTK - #Rust app allows queuing travel information, for instance from #DB .

If someone was wondering what MNTina was doing in Hamburg while #37c3 was taking place:
