Social media platforms help us to stay connected with each other and the world. What went wrong is that in a bid to grow their engagement metrics and revenues, social media channels started to track, monitor and control their users’ behavior. They manipulate the users’ thirst to their advertiser’s ends. So what's the way forward? Read more ➡️ https://puri.sm/posts/the-future-of-socialmedia/
Catch-up with @kyle at the LinuxFest Northwest on April 24. His talk will explore how he uses OpenSnitch on his mobile Linux device. Apps have a bad habit of snitching on their owners. While this is a much bigger problem on Android and iOS, it's still valuable to detect when apps phone home on Linux. It is much more difficult to hide backdoors in free software, especially long-term, writes President of Purism, Kyle Rankin (@kyle) in his new post ✍️ https://puri.sm/posts/freedom-from-coercion/

It's hard to believe it's been a year since I replaced my personal computer with a #Librem5 and laptop dock. In this post I talk about my impressions, the docks I've tried, and using my Librem 5 as a tablet. https://puri.sm/posts/my-first-year-of-librem-5-convergence/

#FirefoxESR on #PureOS on the #Librem5 has (finally) been updated to 91.6. This renders the installed firefox-esr-mobile-config package non-working, but while we're waiting for an update to land, you can (assuming you have git and build-essential installed) just do the following:
`git clone https://gitlab.com/postmarketOS/mobile-config-firefox`
`cd mobile-config-firefox`
`make`
`sudo make install`.
Firefox may need one (or more) restart, but after that it should look like in my photo:
