sxmo is in Debian unstable now, with a fresh mobian you can try it with: sudo apt install sxmo-utils; sudo systemctl disable --now phosh (still very fresh, so maybe have a working ssh in place to recover)

@purism
I was showing the video in this post to a friend and realized that "the recently added matrix" support in chatty was mentioned.
Is that now out of experimental?

@kyle
It is rainy here, so I can't actually test it yet, but I just updated phosh on my pinephone and set this on it also.
Great work from purism with this new phosh update!!!

Phosh has a new optional feature that uses the light sensor to switch to a high contrast theme whenever it detects you are in direct sunlight. Very cool, especially since it also applies to the lock screen and all GTK apps too.

@feditips
Do a poll asking what timezone your followers are in. Post it one time without boosting, see if you get better responses from certain timezones. That will give you an idea whether boosting is necessary or not.
(Obviously, anyone complaining hasn't read through your tips as timezone boosting was one of them.)

@toroidalcore
I did us mobile. But they are using the T-Mobile towers.

I wanna see how far this poll can go, vote and then boost please! 🌐

How long have you been in the fediverse?

Comment if timeframe is not listed!

Small question to the #mobileLinux crowd here (and especially #Mobian people on #PinePhone):
since the @mobian update around June 26, USB tethering suddenly started working on PP <= 1.2 (UBPorts Edition).
This was amazing news for me since I have a 1.2 and *never* managed to get the USB network working on any distro before.
However, what leaves me a bit frustrated is that I've no idea what changed, what fixed it... would anyone know (or know where I could look)?

I had to switch away from AT&T at the beginning of this year. When the turned off their 3G towers, they also implemented a process of only allowing whitelisted devices to use the network.
They told me that if a phone is 3G capable (even if it is also 4G capable) it will not work on their network.

Hey fedipals, do you know what's the state of the FLOSS Google Search alternatives? Last time I checked Searx and Seeks were not giving good results… but maybe that was just an instance problem? Are there new more interesting ones? Boost welcome.

@Secftblgirl
The problem with your question is that 5 year olds still believe in magic. 😂

@mr_penguin
So, I am curious. In a couple of different posts, you have talked about what "family friendly" does not mean in terms of a libertarian event. What then does the term "family friendly" actually mean at these events?

I just installed the latest Postmarket OS (with Phosh) on a Pinephone and goodness they have come a long way.

The OS is basically usable. Which is amazing on such an underpowered device.

Also, convergence worked for me for the first time :) And yeah, I could easily use this with Helix Editor + git for development work on the go. (Keep in mind my daily dev machine is a 16-core desktop with 64GB RAM. So, no, it’s not the same experience. But is it usable? Heck yes.)

Will you help us reach that goal? The preferred donation method is our PayPal, paypal.me/dansup but you can also donate via patreon.com/dansup or liberapay.com/pixelfed

Boosts appreciated, and thank you for supporting us ❤️ #pixelfed #communityFunded

And with that decision, President Trump now ranks as the greatest President of my lifetime.
