I keep getting confused as to why people are acting all confused about how Mastodon works. It works like Twitter used to work! And then I realize: Twitter hasn't worked like this for 10+ years, a lot of people don't remember when Twitter was like Mastodon is now.

@MichalBryxi 👏 YES! I wish were more popular. So many of the people who think GraphQL is better than REST assume REST means giant unmanageable balls of JSON hurled across unintuitable URLs.

I also wish Fitbit had publicly released its v2 API that used JSON:API. jeremiahlee.com/posts/json-api

#JsonApi is by no means perfect, but at this point I'm pretty certain that anything less in functionality than JSON:API will eventually mean pain and terrible hacks.
Please do learn from good, widely adopted standards instead of trying to be smart.
APIs are *extremely* hard and you *will not* be able to see everything that your app will need.

But I don't know what US cuisine is. Any food I can think of is an evolution from another culture. I miss Chinese-American, TexMex, MexiCali, and Italian-American food the most.

Maybe fast food or chain restaurants? That would be quite narrow and unfortunate identifier.

The Apple Watch Ultra I bought in the US does not work on European cellular carriers. 🤦‍♂️

That is annoying and was not adequately communicated by Apple at purchase.

@ccart31 @heyjovo You can follow from your Mastodon account by searching for pixelfed.social/Heyjovo and hitting follow. Or you can create a separate Pixelfed-server account, but there isn't a need to do that unless you want a different app experience.
