I haven't read Al Jazeera in a while, but they were always a reasonable voice.

What the birch?! Arrgh my eyes and throat and nose.... Birch is my swear word for the season.

Our 1st article, which covers Mastodon, has now been cross-posted on the Social Media Alternatives Project site curated by the ever-insightful @robertwgehl & Co. Check out the post, but be sure to explore the site! it's a goldmine of information on those seeking to break out of big Tech: socialmediaalternatives.org/?p

I posted my code for rendering ActivityPub Articles in-line in Mastodon as a PR to the glitch-social fork. You can check it out here if you're curious or have feedback.

Weird. My ZTE Blade suddenly started to throw "DRM not supported" errors whenever I try to install anything via the Play store.

The device isn't rooted, and I didn't upgrade anything recently, and there's no system upgrade available.

Some of the apps I used to use stopped working too. #Android always finds a way to piss me off. #Librem5 can't come soon enough.

The techlash seems to represent a turning point in what people think the internet "should" be. Which makes sense:

1990s: lots of small players, privileged and mostly tech-savvy userbase, rapid innovation: anarchism is great!

2010s: handful of bigcorps with more power than nation-states, large vulnerable population actively exploited by bad actors, feature stagnation: ehhh, maybe we should give this government thing a shot
