"... we have resumed exploring the creation of an external keyboard for the PinePhone. To be precise, we have approached a vendor and began exploring our options for a slide-out keyboard akin to those used on the Nokia N900."

Woohoo! Just ordered the #PinePhone #postmarketos with Convergence Package. So looking forward to having some fun with this 😜 📱 🎉 🚀
My #Pinephone order status
I ordered my #UBports Community Edition Pinephone at the end of May. Obviously with the raging global pandemic, I knew I'd have to be patient.
Early last week I got an email from PINE64 telling me they still couldn't ship to Canada through regular mail, and if I didn't upgrade to DHL shipping before Friday last week, they'd cancel my order. On the PINE64 forum some people were mad about it. But I understand they've been dealing with an impossible situation.

#Jolla Opens New Forum for #SailfishOS Discussions
The until now used TJC website will be replaced with a new discussion forum. The new forum should provide a better platform for developer collaboration since TJC has not been the optimal forum for serving developers’ needs. The new website includes several sub-forums which allow discourses and deeper analysis for every type of discussions.

Riot is now named Element. Feels a lot better and is faster. Well done!
@shebang oh no are you OK?
Thanks to the work of Samuel Holland, crust advanced power management is now capable of running the #PinePhone for 100hrs in idle without the modem (approximately 110mW). With modem on, we should get 40% battery run-time increase (to approx 24 hrs).
Coming to your distro of choice soon!
#100daysofcode Day 96: To try to get group texts working on my #pinephone, I build vgmms ( https://git.sr.ht/~anteater/vgmms ), but encountered an error when running it: https://todo.sr.ht/~anteater/mms-stack-bugs/16
@techit @nikolal @marc0janssen If I had to buy a phone now, it would probably be a #Fairfone or #Pinephone. But the most ethical phone is the one you already have. It's better not to replace one needlessly. I don't need anything newer than my old Wiko.
Something to consider regarding #privacy ramifications of #Android on #Pinephone... yes, while even #AOSP likely includes privacy issues we'd all rather get away from, the other way of looking at this is to ask how many cheap, Android phones use only AOSP, are updated regularly and include hardware kill switches for the modem, webcam, mic, wifi etc?
Yes, it's way better to use a real #Linux OS for privacy, but this could actually be a good entry point for people who just wouldn't do that...
