ive said it before and I'll say it again

we call it AdBlocking because that's what most people use it for

but it's really just a way to control what elements do and do not display on all websites or some

screen reader users often need to block some elements that are NOT ads to make a site functional (although often ads as well)

Banning ad blockers is not just a privacy concern or a quality of life concern or an Internet safety from malicious ads concern.

It's an accessibility concern

As #Mozilla is busy adding AI crap to #Firefox, I would like to point out that it's about 13 years since they removed the #RSS button from default Firefox GUI, and six years since RSS support was completely dropped from Firefox.

Thus making feeds invisible and impossible to discover for most web users.

RSS/Atom/JSON feeds are an immensely useful and important tech that can help solve the content discovery problem *without* going through gatekeepers. 👀

But obviously not a priority for Mozilla.

@randahl as an Italian, please allow me to point out proudly that we were the very first morons to put a billionaire in power, Silvio Berlusconi. If everybody else had paid attention to the tale of corruption, scandals, laws “ad personam” that followed - or simply noticed how we stagnated for 25 years afterwards - at least we would have the consolation of having shown everybody else how gigantic a mistake that is. Like the UK did with Brexit. But no.

The EU enacted a new law a while ago that all bottle caps should remain attached to the bottle, to combat plastic trash.

All the bottle and packaging makers, from massive multinationals like Coca Cola and fucking Nestlé to small local producers invested in the development of new caps, changing their production lines, and shipping the new caps. Today, a month before the law goes into effect, it's basically impossible to find a bottle without an attached cap.

I don't know, I thought this story was weirdly relevant right now with Apple being a whiny bitch. Imagine being worse than Coca Cola and motherfucking Nestlé.
