Det verkar ju som om de som skrivit förslaget inte vet vad PGP är och hur det fungerar. Kan det vara så att nästa steg för dem, när de förstått att saker som PGP finns, då blir nästa steg att förbjuda det? Alltså, nästa förslag blir att förbjuda kryptering, kanske blir det då att förbjuda all fri programvara? Eftersom bara för stängd programvara ägd av företag kan man tvinga de företagen att scanna allting, menar jag.

Heh, "Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on man". That one is funny, and may have been true at the time. Hardly true anymore though, I think it's safe to say that humanity has come up with significantly more perverted systems lately. 🙂

The European Commission is currently in the process of enacting a law called Chat control. If the law goes into effect, it will mean that all EU citizens’ communications will be monitored and listened to.

I think focusing on the case for #freesoftware in #education is a wise choice, both because of its huge importance and because the arguments are so very clear. Anyone who thinks about the issue will agree that #foss is the way to go in schools. Only ignorance stands in the way.

Tried asking crowdsupply a number of times, but they never seem to get around to shipping it. Odd, since it seems everyone else got theirs shipped a long time ago.
It's not supposed to take this long, is it? An MNT Reform ordered in 2020 should have shipped by now?

Ett exempel: visselblåsaren X vill skicka ett sms till en journalist för att berätta om pågående korruption inom myndigheten Y. Då har det hittills varit möjligt för X att skaffa en billig telefon och betala kontant, sen skaffa ett anonymt kontantkort och sätta i den telefonen, och skicka sitt sms till journalisten. Det kommer inte längre att vara möjligt för visselblåsare att vara anonyma på det sättet. Goda nyheter för korrupta myndigheter.
Jag tror det stämmer som du säger att det går att identifiera telefonen och spåra folk på det sättet. Men en viktig skillnad där är att det inte finns några krav att registrera vem som har en viss telefon, t.ex. kan man ju köpa en telefon begagnat, och det är inte (ännu) olagligt att byta telefoner med varandra. (Så den som ska spåra dig behöver i alla fall anstränga sig lite för att klura ut vilket telefon som är din.)
