Ett exempel: visselblåsaren X vill skicka ett sms till en journalist för att berätta om pågående korruption inom myndigheten Y. Då har det hittills varit möjligt för X att skaffa en billig telefon och betala kontant, sen skaffa ett anonymt kontantkort och sätta i den telefonen, och skicka sitt sms till journalisten. Det kommer inte längre att vara möjligt för visselblåsare att vara anonyma på det sättet. Goda nyheter för korrupta myndigheter.

Jag tror det stämmer som du säger att det går att identifiera telefonen och spåra folk på det sättet. Men en viktig skillnad där är att det inte finns några krav att registrera vem som har en viss telefon, t.ex. kan man ju köpa en telefon begagnat, och det är inte (ännu) olagligt att byta telefoner med varandra. (Så den som ska spåra dig behöver i alla fall anstränga sig lite för att klura ut vilket telefon som är din.)

About the encryption, I think it should be noted that it is misleading to use the phrase "end-to-end encryption" when a Big Brother such as Apple holds the keys. Because Apple's software is closed and proprietary, a user will not know how keys are handled, whatever Apple do it is not meaningful to call it "end-to-end encryption". That requires open source software. If Apple says E2E, that's a scam from Apple, let us not be fooled.

Will the systems still improve in that situation, or will things stagnate because of lack of real input from real human beings?

I guess that if you think there is no problem with that, then you could already construct such a feedback loop where the system eats its own output as input. Does that work, or not?

Will "original content" created by actual humans capable of original thought become increasingly rare and increasingly valuable?

Hi, thanks for an interesting discussion.

Here is one question I think you missed: for that kind of AI system that is "trained" on data from the internet, suppose now that in the future the "new" content added to web pages will be increasingly generated by such systems. Then when the systems are to be improved by training on the new added content, they are increasingly taking in their own earlier output as new training input.
