I just updated two #Debian laptops from #bookworm to #trixie. Both went very smoothly, I think the smoothest laptop OS upgrade I've ever had. Thanks to all those that made that happen!

Matt Miller, Project Leader of #Fedora, gives a nice overview of what makes #distros valuable. This applies to any distro that actually reviews the packages that they ship, including #FDroid #Debian etc. Something like #Flathub or #Obtainium do not behave like distros because they do not aim to review and standardize the packages they ship.

#Google #Chromebook has a good reputation for #security. They let any user install a #Debian container where you can then install anything from Debian, even add Flathub or directly install downloaded .deb packages. All of this without anything like the #AndroidDeveloperVerification requirements.
