@kyle I was always a fan of Tesla as they were the first mover and made cool cars. But they have gone down the path of Apple and now I want to get another electronic car maker that'll care for their customers.

A good video looking at the carbon impacts of meat. I rarely eat meat because of the sustainability issues. 26% of carbon emissions is from farming and I feel this is the only industry we cannot just switch to a carbon neutral version. It requires personal change 😔

@feonixrift chickpeas are good and you can put them in a lot of recipes. To save money I buy them dry. I then soak, cook, and freeze them to use during the week. Making hummus is a fun activity to do together.

@hn250 interesting, I never did calculus in highschool and went on to do physics at University. Long after uni I enjoy watching maths videos and doing some of the basic maths to see how different aspects of maths is connected and apply to life. I feel like this is a good approach so people see maths all around them and how it's connected. Outside of uni you don't do pure maths, but knowing is important.

@lig I had it is quotations but took them out to fix the exact toot count. The examples I had from experience where I saw people act differently to my friends that through me off and I quickly saw its racism. Having that advantage point does come from my own privilege.

@lig yes it is all racism. I couldn't fit everything into one toot and I didn't think fully about your last toot. I was trying to add that whiteness changes depending where you are but it is all (I think) about power and privilege that comes from colonialism.

@lig @be you have not been to Australia, what white here has changed a lot since the 200 years the white fella arrived. The Italians were firstly not white then the Greeks. My wife is Portuguese but because she has slightly darker skin some people don't know her whiteness even tho she is from Europe. A friend who's parents are British and Cantonese most of the time is seen as white but by some he is not.
It is some part about heritage but mostly privilege

@markusl @be having to defend yourself from being called an abuser does not make you a victim. Trying to sweep issues under the carpet only makes things worst and tone policing does that.

@uoya the software my company writes does not work on the M1 and we need to do a lot of work. So a lot of old software will not work. When the M2, M3, MX comes out, will your hardware and software be supported?
