Indeed. Pragmatically, I'd consider the baseband a part of the untrusted network, so how free its sw is, is mostly philosophical. Due to regulations it seems impossible to have it really free.

Agreed, you'll not always find "privacy wifi". But even if you need to register, it's likely less centralized than now (also: multiple accounts, change MAC?). Besides, if there are a few (home, work, friends, bars) that's already a good start.

But Purism envisions being able to e.g. use WiFi+VPN+Matrix, replacing classic calls completely.

Not there yet. Intend to use openHAB on top of KNX. While KNX is not really open, it is standardized, has components by dozens of companies and is some decades older than "cloud", which is a plus.
Not sure how well it would work outside Europe.

Not sure if you got what I meant:

statutory rape is defined as "nonforcible" (wikipedia). That's why the term is misleading. In other languages it does not contain "rape". In German it's abuse. And that abuse is based on the arbitrary definition that below a.o.c. you are always abused, even though a day later (18) it would not be abuse, or if one had a preterm birth it would also not count as abuse despite slower development.

Don't want to go to far here, but I'm tempted to say the GPL is a light yoke. Especially for users. Bigtech knows that, profits massively (and therefore accepts the yoke) from GPL code but takes care the enduser doesn't.

GPL made Linux thrive. Linus knows that, despite not really liking RMS.

It's logically sane to say that it's wild that crossing a border or a day more/less make an (immoral/unethical) act illegal. Don't agree yet? Think abortion instead of st.rape.
2 children conceived on the same day could end up being born 24 weeks apart(!). The "older" one will likely be less mature, yet reach a.o.c. much earlier.

Without defending immorality:
Keep in mind that our views on ethics and morality are shaped more by our culture than we like to admit.
If someone brings up Maria's (assumed) age against you, you'll either deny it or accept it as cultural difference, having to admit that statutory rape might sound a bit harsh and that age of consent is maybe a somewhat vague concept.
