@purism So Aspen shipped to basically ten or twenty people in the project? There hasn't been a peep about receiving and testing the librem 5 from anyone outside of purism (except garner, who had Todd next to him the whole time). I wouldn't mind that, if we actually got communication about that being the case.
@rancicivan @lunduke I second that! Plasma mobile on this would be nice to see!
@lunduke I'd really like to see a indepth video of it's current state.
@lunduke Nothing new to show?

Bryan Lunduke is also getting his today.
There's also this person i saw claiming to have gotten a modem email a few days ago (not me the poster, but the person in the pic): https://www.reddit.com/r/Purism/comments/de7zt4/nice_job_purism_looking_forward_to_the_reviews/
@zwerg12 Agreed! Lunduke, please record a phone call on it, and do a text message!
Showcase the state of the graphics drivers, how much the CPU can handle before thermal throttling, and take pictures and video with the cameras
@brandon123 librem 11 was cancelled to free up development for the librem 5
@omgubuntu I preordered a Librem 5. Expensive, but i hope it's hardware works fine and the software will eventually become a really good experience.
When you get the shipping message it will indicate your current batch. They won't send the shipping message until it's being shipped out.
They mention the shipping dates in their website news page. Aspen will be shipped out by October 24th. You should be receiving a batch email confirming which batch you want to try getting in, and then later when the phone is shipped you should get a shipping email where you confirm your modem.
I am 100% going to find a generic screen protector for mine. It would be cool to get rubber feet for the sides too to help with shock absorption should you drop it.
@purism I'd like to see reviews from other sources finally, confirming the fact that it was actually shipped out, and which voices a more indepth analysis of the phone and it's use.
Man i can't wait to get my claws on mine! I guess the metal acts as a heatsink? I'm so glad you went that route!
I love using linux!
