@clerian I genuinely don’t know but I’m leaning towards internet addiction/feeding some kind of synaptic reward pathway. My point was that when an individual including myself posts they may be experiencing some imbalance. I feel better when I disconnect from the internet and I think that that’s normal.

For what good reason would any right minded individual post anything at all on social media? I can’t think of one.

Still alive if anyone is wondering. Just been working and planning on new steps in life and things I want to accomplish sometime soon.

@liw patches to libraries may be security fixes or security breaches, in theory I agree, in reality I’d prefer discrete control over each system dependency.

@freemo don’t all moral decisions create selection pressures? Cuteness is a perfectly valid selection pressure leading to the survival of a species that has respiratory problems, another perfectly valid selection pressure. I see no problem here, life is just doing what it does.

@patchman@social.linux.pizza @mike I’ll ask my Giraffic Designer how to pronounce Giraffics Interchange Format.

Open Source aggressively pushes permissive licensing, even for projects that are important which will suffer from such licensing. The FSF recommends a copyleft license such as the GPL for any source over 300 lines. techrights.org/2019/10/03/hist

@vancha you know what? Maybe you should find someone with a bunch of old Uncle Bob videos they may be able to lend you, or read his clean code books. Mostly Java and Ruby stuff, but if you feel you need direction it's a good place to start in my opinion.

@vancha I may be ever so slightly jaded right now..😂 . Its friday night and I am not home yet because features need doin. bugs need fixin. I just want to play with microscopes and look at nice things. honestly, fuck programming.

@vancha my advice is never listen to anyones advice when it comes to programming. They only want you to experience pain, no one cares about improving you. noone.
