sounds more like their interests are on the side of marketing. What about asking the Q would the web really be worse off without advertising?
Do you believe that Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau thought about marketing when they started out? Companies like Meta, Google etc have simply hijacked the web, and now want to set the standards.

Oft werden tools der big5 benutzt weil sie die Dinge leichter & einfacher macht, und alle Firmen wollen schneller CI/CD haben.
Und es bei analytics tools leicht Geld verdienen lässt.

By the way, if you are having trouble signing because your email server implements an archaic anti-spam technique called greylisting. I’m going to look into adding basic support for it but please also contact your email provider and remind them it’s 2022. Spammers have long worked around greylisting. Today, it just makes things harder for legitimate small web use cases.
