In the same spirit as when @lunduke declared ‘Linux Thursdays’, I’m hoping that if we were to declare the ‘Solstinox’ as the time of the season to donate to your favourite Free/Libre Open Source Software projects, it might give a little boost of money to help with further development and improvements and also show the developers that their work is appreciated.

The ‘Solstinox FLOSS Appreciation Donation’ campaign is just a working title for it–perhaps someone can come up with something catchier?

@phelion @lunduke And what should "Solstinox" stand for? How did you came up with this hard-to-write/spell word??

@rugk @lunduke Solstinox is a portmanteau of Solstice and Equinox - the idea being to declare the Solstices and Equinoxes as the time of the season to appreciate and donate to your favourite Free/Libre Open Source Software Projects :)

@phelion @lunduke uuuhm, I get it… 🌄

But really… way too hard to pronounce/write or even remember (especially for non-native English speakers 😉)…

@rugk Ah yes, hadn't really considered it from the non-native English speaking perspective :/ It was mainly just a way to not have to say 'The Summer and Winter Solstices and the two Equinoxes as well' :)

@phelion @lunduke
I like the idea. I think the main problems are visibility and simplicity (to donate).
I'd love to see donation buttons to important (and invisible) projects in @purism 's PureStore, in addition to a pay-what-you-want model for the apps. Creates visibility and simplicity 😀
