The recording of my #FOSDEM talk - a dive into a bug in USB 2.0 and the problem of spontaneous modem resets that used to be experienced on the #Librem5 is now available to watch: https://fosdem.org/2024/schedule/event/fosdem-2024-3200-universal-serial-bug-a-tale-of-spontaneous-modem-resets/ #linuxmobile #mobilelinux #usb #fosdem24 #fosdem2024 #fossonmobile #mobile #linux
@dos Your talk was the highlight of the #linuxmobile dev room! I recommend everyone watch this. It was great to meet you at #fosdem. See you in the forums!
@dos I like your Pink Floyd shirt
@spacemanspiffy I'm a huge fan, I especially love "Highway to hell" 🔥
@dos Great talk, and above all impressive work getting to the bottom of that issue!
Thanks for mentioning my contribution regarding reproducing it (at about 15 minutes into the talk). It was this https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/linux/-/issues/303#note_222036 and this https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/linux/-/issues/303#note_225396
Lots and lots of testing and recompiling kernels with different extra debug printouts behind that. 😅
@dos Thank you for this talk. I have been wondering about the modem issue on the L5 and this was very well presented and informative. I think this would have drove me nuts working on. Thanks for all of your efforts! Also I totally expected you to have a polish accent and not a french one. Anyway thanks again!
FWIW I've just posted subtitles for the talk, available under the same link above. You can use this mpv invocation below to watch it captioned:
