One thing that's getting a little lost in this mix, is that some of the people desperately holding on at Twitter are because they are trapped by either healthcare or visas.
That there are systemic traps that trap worker in America so they feel unable to move freely to new employers who want them and would have better pay or conditions is *nuts* and deserves a lot more attention than it gets.
http://lettuce.wtf doesn't look super healthy right now, but I think it's probably still a good bet at this point
Yay, @rakulang now lives on #fosstodon!
Over the last few years, I've gotten really obsessed with #rakulang – I really believe it's just about the best language out there for writing #foss (and just an expressive and fun language in general).
So I'm really happy that Raku now has a home on the fediverse right here on our very own #fosstodon :)
I hope you'll join me in giving them a warm welcome!
There is a simple proposal for an integration between Github and Mastodon for profile verification: https://github.com/community/community/discussions/6248

Hello #OpenSource world! This is OSI's official home in the #Fediverse
It occurred to us that we never did an #introduction - and we've been here a whole 24 hours. We're #RaspberryPi. We're from #Cambridge, UK, where we design and make tiny #computers and #microprocessors. We've sold more than 50 million of our computers in the last ten years: you'll find them everywhere from hackspaces and schools to the #ISS, tracking penguins on glaciers and automating factories.
So far we're really liking it here.
Love the idea that @Raspberry_Pi account is hosted on its own instance running on a Raspberry Pi.
Did you know that the European Union had an official Mastodon instance where only official EU institutions could open an account?

No need to pay for a blue checkmark, accounts on this instance are, by definition, officials.
That’s Fediverse done right!
Remember this picture every single time you hear someone in your city say "we're not Amsterdam." This was #Amsterdam in the 1970's. The cities we admire made better choices regarding cars, and are still making them today.
Better choices instead of excuses.
