@viv@toot.site nooo! The next important one is 64! After 64 is an overflow error. ๐Ÿ˜€

Holy crap. Listened to Levar Burton Reads The Paper Menagerie while doing housework. Even at 1.25 speed I lost it. What a powerful story.

@fedilab@toot.fedilab.app that's great news! Hurry up and update, F-droid! ๐Ÿ˜€

@viv@toot.site omg, Deadhouse Gates was the pinnacle of the Malazan Fallen series (at least through midnight tides or something).

English language usage re: y'all

@viv@toot.site went for a brief cry in the car, feel miserable.

@valvin, thanks for the info. I thought @davidrevoy was just teasing the next episode. I didn't think to check the blog.

please make @probgoblin the hero we deserve and offer him that waffle cone.

@immychan @CharlotteBeyond@mastodon.social not a fan of Firefox with uBlock Origin or Disconnect.me?

Using more obscure browsers probably makes you easier to fingerprint. The Tor browser recommends not changing things or installing add-ons so that everyone using it looks the same.

Anyone else have issues with saying it has stopped working after every use?

I like the app level over FF plug-in, it works with redirecting links that open with .

@viv@toot.site just installed Fedora for the first time a few months ago (only been through the 30 to 31 rebase). I had heard on some podcast that it offered better default protections than Ubuntu, so I thought I would try it out.

I ran Gentoo for a number of years, before work ate my life, and it was quite the learning experience. Nothing fosters learning like bricking and then recovering your system every month when you remember to update!

@viv@toot.site i shall look harder. I wonder when 5.18 will land in Fedora...

Bernie Sanders

@solarkraft @garbados @hirojin@dev.glitch.social "Free services" have intentionally mislead users. What data, who it's shared with, and how it is used have been obfuscated behind lengthy terms or policies full of opaque legal language.

This is a market failure. There is no incentive for provider to address it and the consumer is unaware of the damage being done by the market. Capitalism expects government to address market failures. However, that doesn't happen.

@viv@toot.site what? Plasma does have a night color by default? I never found it when I went looking for it! I've been running redshift when I get tired of being punched in the retinas by blue photons.

@DissidentKitty@sunbeam.city haha, this immediately reminded me of a story in the news. Alexei Botyan, a Russian spy in WWII, blew up an ammo dump in Krakow Poland as the Red Army approached.

Russia says he saved the city from being blown up and views Botyan as a hero. While Polish historians claim there was no plan to blow up the city, the Nazis would have just retreated. Botyan is unknown in Poland.

It's all about perspective. Or maybe spin. Nevermind, I don't know.

@davidrevoy can't wait to see it. Even this teaser is great. Who is this mysterious rune witch? What is her business with the crowned leader? What does Pepper have to explain to this lethargic appearing old man? Does Carrot manage to satiate that persistent feline hunger? Next time on Dragon B-*cough* Pepper and Carrot! ๐Ÿ˜

@yogthos@mastodon.social @xj9 @moonman not only did we know in tje 80's. But as late as 2016 republican talking points have been about "not choosing winners" and let green energy stand on it's own in a free market. It completely ignores the 100 years of subsidies that fossil fuels have had to be competitive.
