Playing with TCP for the first time ever. Using the socket module in #Python. I was really thrown for a loop when the socket automatically closed while trying to make sure I read the whole response.
In order to support multiple requests in a script I'm having to initialize a new socket for each request. This feels like I am doing something wrong, but with arbitrary length returns, no hint to response length, and no end character I'm not sure what else to do.
@immychan astonishing
@immychan you had some insights about how trans people are treated in the UK medical system. I bet collecting articles and stories about that would make at least one episode.
@immychan is there anyone specifically or any org reps you'd want to interview/chat with?
@SilkyNsa@mstdn.social @viv@toot.site agreed, get home from work and am too drained to pursue anything. When I do feel up to doing something, it usually ends up being log back into work to complete things that aren't technically draining but require uninterrupted, focused time.
Grabbed a humble bundle on machine learning a month or two ago; I've read maybe 3 chapters. It looks cool, I have a work related application I would like to try it with. But it feels like it'll never happen.
@esureL @poiseunderchaos@sonomu.club I agree thay RSS/Atom are still pretty great, and thankfully widely implemented. I use RSS for following podcasts.
Blogs are a little harder. I have only ever found a few I enjoyed reading on the regular. I think it might be something about balancing too broad and too niche. And I am unaware of blogs having discoverability platforms like iTunes, Stitcher, etc. have provided for podcasts.
What would the first three episodes of an @immychan LGBT podcast cover?
@lashman can we take a moment to appreciate the irony of the man who had to have the qualifications changed in order to be in the debate calling for lagging candidates to drop out of the primary?
@immychan what would you do a podcast about?
Human... maybe?
