its almost if they want to start a revolution but god dam the right wingers are such faggots
@11112011

Well liberals are generally non violent, and just want to be left alone with lower taxes. Commies are the ones that want to take stuff by force because they're not smart enough to win through actual work.

@nerdman Communists were pretty instrumental in many labour movements to achieve things like 40 work week. @11112011

@terryenglish @11112011

Horses were instrumental in industrializing. We don't use them for industrial work anymore. Some things become obsolete with time and technological advancements.

@nerdman What can I say, I believe in giving credit where it's due even though I personally am not a communist. @11112011

@terryenglish @11112011

I'll be the first to say, "Thanks communism for all the positives things you brought to us", at communism's funeral where we put it in the cremation oven and prepare to sadly spread it's ashes over the sands of history.
@terryenglish @11112011

But we won't because it works. As recognized by Lenin when NEP, Deng Xiaoping after they got rid of Mao, etc.

@nerdman Capitalism works πŸ˜‚ That's a good one! It worked right up to the point our species wiped itself out following the logic of a failed system. It had it's time. Time to find something new. @11112011

@nerdman Is that the same graph that Steven Pinker cites in one of his latest books? I think it's called Enlightenment Now or something. @11112011

@terryenglish @11112011

No clue. Reading books not big on my "stuff I do" list.

@nerdman I'm pretty sure that graph has been debunked as feels over reals propaganda due to major methodological problems with it. @11112011

@terryenglish @11112011

It does look too good to be true.

But there's no denying that the only major famines we've had since the 80s were in North Korea (and the average Venezuelan lost like 10kg and not through exercise.) There's billions of people on the internet. There's a billion people using some Apple product.

These are not properties for a world where poverty is rampant.

If you want to replace capitalism you have to find something better and even the most retarded of us (that's me) know enough history to know that socialism isn't it.
@terryenglish @11112011

We wiped ourselves out? When did THAT happen?

As to new stuff, sure. I'll be keeping my money and property untill you give us proof of "capitalism but better."
@terryenglish captitalism works better than everything else, so much so that even anti capitalist systems are forced to implement it either to keep the populace distracted or to keep the money coming and have any appearance of successful economic models.

@nerdman @11112011
@terryenglish

Capitalism allowed Trudeau to spend 500 billion dollars in CERB and similar benefits the past 2 years.

Businesses made under capitalism pay taxes or remit taxes on behalf of its skilled T4 employees.

@11112011 @nerdman

@Prodigal How is that capitalism? That is the government using it's power to provide benefits to it's citizens during a crisis. @11112011 @nerdman

@terryenglish

Because the govt stole that money through taxation, money earned by capitalist entrepreneurs and the workers supporting capitalist enterprises.

A business could depend very little on the govt save for law enforcement, and still demand I pay 13% HST.

The govt doesn’t help me to market, doesn’t give me internet, doesn’t pay my mortgages, doesn’t pay my office supplies or transportation costs. You get the idea.

Yet for every dollar or product or service I sell, I mark up costs by 13% and I still have to pay tax on retained earnings after expenses.

@11112011 @nerdman
@terryenglish I lol’d at β€œgovt provide benefits to its citizens” lol it’s the other way around.

@11112011 @nerdman
@11112011 Nooo!

I made 211K last year on contracts alone, my business had no shutdown.

My wife took one cheque of 2k because sales slowed in March and she paid it back in July.

@nerdman @terryenglish
@Prodigal @nerdman @terryenglish Part of the new package includes payments to aid families with young children. Canadians who qualify for the Canadian Child Benefit (CCB) will receive up to $1,200 in 2021 for every child they have under the age of six. Families that make less than $120,000 a year will receive four tax-free payments of $300 over the course of 2021. Families that make more than $120,000 will receive four tax-free payments of $150. The announcement will benefit roughly 1.6 million Canadian families and cost the government $2.4 billion in 2021. "Covid-19 has been especially hard for young children and their families. We know that many middle-class families are really struggling," said Freeland.
@11112011 @nerdman @terryenglish

$600?

Really?

150 a kid…

Really?

That’s nothing, we paid over $10k in property taxes last year to pay teachers to sing on zoom, most of property taxes is for public school and we are home schoolers.

So that’s a net benefit to the govt…stealing and redistributing money
@11112011 @nerdman @terryenglish

How do you stimulate an economy where you make many businesses shutdown?

Should’ve given businesses money for PPE and work from home technologies
@11112011 @nerdman @terryenglish

$600 I would have gladly refused.

No matter, sure wifey bought stocks with it.

Even when we were dirt poor, trillium checks and federal checks went into her account, not mine.
@Prodigal @nerdman @terryenglish such a based guy im sure u would refuse wife bought stocks pump the comie market
@11112011 actually no, I like when she buy stocks because if she doesn’t then she wants to buy property which means mortgage qualification headaches since we both work for ourselves @nerdman @terryenglish
@11112011 @nerdman @terryenglish

Yeah equity market is rigged.

I am still in it for dividends at this point, you should buy BMO they haven’t missed a dividend payment in over 100 years, last I checked.

Unless you’re into growth stocks
@Prodigal @nerdman @terryenglish im glad and now wit having to change job and all keep an eye on that stuff
@11112011 @nerdman @terryenglish

Yeah, I am looking forward to it… I have done everything I ever wanted to do for my govt except work for the CSA, but with full family life I just wanna do my e-businesses and trades to buy more metals and prepper gear.

Sadly I don’t have a cottage that outside of the city…

At least I have a few weapons to fight the zombies off, lol

Think about it. You gave money back to the people who paid taxes. This acts like a momentary tax reduction. This is a stimulus to the economy. Therefore the state is a hindrance on the economy.

CHECKMATE ATHEISTS.

@Prodigal It's give and take like most things in life. The fact is that government is doing less now for ordinary people because we're constantly losing the struggle for control for state power with economic elites. @11112011 @nerdman

@terryenglish

Or put simply, we the people breathed life into the govt but politicized multinational corps and interests became the govts sugar daddy.

@11112011 @nerdman
@terryenglish

Capitalism isn’t corporate wealth.

It’s a system that allows greedy and needy parties to compete rather fairly for resources without resorting to violence and death directly.

Under communism and socialism, when there is food for 900 but 1000 are hungry, the elite govt decide who eats and who dies.

With capitalism, someone might be greedy enough to come up with a way to feed the last 100 but make them pay for it.

@11112011 @nerdman

@Prodigal Yes it absolutely is part of the construct of really existing capitalism. If you want to talk about some sort of fantasy capitalism you may untag me now. @11112011 @nerdman

@terryenglish

Sure thing, as long as your reasoning is akin to:

β€œBasketball sucks because Tall people have a major advantage”

We have no other reason to communicate.

@11112011 @nerdman

@Prodigal In basketball, do the players that lose get forced to live a life of destitution? I think we've hit the end when we're delving into poor analogies and bad faith arguments. @11112011 @nerdman

@terryenglish

Only govt policies can force a life of destitution.

Imagine a govt policy that increased your tax refund based on how much debt you paid off in a year?

In capitalism, only a lack of skill or Will keeps you destitute, even if it is not free market capitalism.

β€”β€”β€”

Yeah the analogy was good, if you are a bad player you get fired and you will be destitute.

You will have to go to some minor league or foreign league to play basket ball and be paid way less than the NBA.

Facts.

If the whole team sucks, the coach would get laid off at first and if it continues, the team owner would sell the team because fans don’t buy tickets to see the team play.

Facts.

A bad basketball player cannot blame his poor performance on the rules of the game of basketball.

@Prodigal

"Only govt policies can force a life of destitution."

This is just straight up not true. What do you think being terminated or laid off from a company is? Government can also implement policies that alleviate destitution. Hey let's do that.

"Imagine a govt policy that increased your tax refund based on how much debt you paid off in a year?"

What does this have to do with anything? I believe this is already the case with some kinds of debt (at least in Canada)

@Prodigal

"In capitalism, only a lack of skill or Will keeps you destitute, even if it is not free market capitalism."

I'll be sure to tell this to every mentally ill drug addict homeless person I see that poverty cycles don't exist and that they have only themselves to blame for their poverty and misery.

@Prodigal

"Yeah the analogy was good, if you are a bad player you get fired and you will be destitute."

Yeah it was so good that you had to change it. Yes I did notice that.

Facts: You're a fucking idiot that individualizes societal problems.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cycle_of

@terryenglish

I didn’t change it, I had to explain it to you.

The cycle of poverty is dude to govt intervention.

Referee is a near invisible party in the game of basketball; likewise government should be a near invisible regulatory party in the game of markets

@Prodigal Yes bad government policy is bad therefore we need good government policy.
