@hannibal_ad_portas you'll be interacting with the DRM/KMS and GBM subsystems. My friend Scott has written some early docs on this from the userspace perspective:
https://github.com/ascent12/drm_doc
But unfortunately your best bet is to read existing implementations. Here's the wlroots DRM backend:
https://github.com/swaywm/wlroots/tree/master/backend/drm
It may also be helpful to reference libdrm and the kernel drivers:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/drm
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/tree/drivers/gpu/drm
That is, if you're interested in the graphics infrastructure. If you're just interested in writing a Wayland compositor and less so in the deep technical work, check out wlroots:

drebrez got a 5.1.0 kernel (with minor patching) running on the Galaxy Nexus - and he started with nothing but forced reboots and kernel panics, then worked his way up to the display and earphone audio!
It's time to grab your favorite drink and celebrate this tale and a lot more with us in the two years of postmarketOS blog post:

@bort @erdnaxeli @feld @farhan@mastodon.technology @fedilab @1iceloops123 @kaniini Mate, if your server can alter causality in that way just through a reboot, you've got a really special server. I'd get some physicists in to study it, there's some New Physics there for sure.
@bort @erdnaxeli @feld @farhan@mastodon.technology @fedilab @1iceloops123 @kaniini You said "blocked" before but now you're responding. Something here doesn't add up!
@Joe@toot.wales @jomo @szbalint @anjum I have no idea at all how to identify fascists, in fact I don't know what "fascist" means. The only way I know how to identify Nazis is if they're wearing Nazi insignia or sieg heiling. I'm not really sure what "racism" means beyond just being prejudiced. To me, identifying these things is not easy at all.

"People who intend genocide have already placed themselves outside ALL protections and foregone ALL their rights."
No they haven't. I think you're focussing on the "intend genocide" and have overlooked the "people". A person who makes others suffer is still a human being who suffers. Even if you take off someone's head, do it quickly without prolonging their suffering. This is called compassion.
