@fifonetworks@mastodon.technology that's how I felt when reading Snow Crash. He is a 90s hacker at heart who knows how to speak to his reader's soul. He is not a modern posh geek, but rather the dirty and outcast 70s, 80s, and 90s techo-geek, just like the best of us! 😃

Please don't laugh, but I really enjoyed The Wheel of Time, even though the story was sort of typical, Robert Jordan had a way of giving the characters a soul that I have found is actually sort of difficult.

Then there is Luck in the Shadows by Lynn Flewelling... that was a wonderous book as far as character depth goes. She is perhaps one of my favorite authors to date.

@ParadeGrotesque I'm with you on this. I watched the first 3 episodes or so and realized that it was a shit TV series. I read the first book years and years ago sitting in a Books-A-Million. I never finished the book because it was just... boring and crap.

I do like fantasy sometimes though, but I am a little particular about what I read or watch.

@xj9 I have a Kyocera DuraForce Pro that is on the fritz since the last update... I'm just hoping it lasts long enough for the Librem 5. I passed up an awesome offer on a OnePlus6t for the Librem 5 so it better be at least functional as a phone. 😃
