Fantasy works less and less for me, because that's what it is: fantasy. For white middle-aged men. It's not surprising HBO put so much sex into this TV serie (most of it definitely *not* consensual, if I understood the rumors).
@ParadeGrotesque I'm with you on this. I watched the first 3 episodes or so and realized that it was a shit TV series. I read the first book years and years ago sitting in a Books-A-Million. I never finished the book because it was just... boring and crap.
I do like fantasy sometimes though, but I am a little particular about what I read or watch.
@ParadeGrotesque okay, now that I think about it, I think that I just love the archetypal themes, but want depth of character. GoT has neither of those, either in books or in TV
