Much as I'd love to be useful tonight/today (the timezone here in Japan doesn't help), I think this shall be my media diet for the next couple of days. Nothing like watching Taka & Yuji get the bad guys for a few days.

I... uh, may have developed a slight Abunai Deka obsession (think Starsky & Hutch, if they were Yokohama cops in the late 80s).

タカとユージにはイッツショータイム!

When I moved to Japan, I bought a 5-year journal. Throughout 2022, I documented the process of settling in and learning the "bunka" and progressing in にほんご、visiting new ところ like "京都" ya 東京, soshite gengo wo manabu koto no kata.

(Perusing our newly arrived Air&Space, and excited to see a familiar author! It's the Bad[ass] Astronomer!)

Great shot of Saturn 土星 to catch one's eye.

月曜日に日食を見ました。今度は皆既食帯にいませんでしたけど、楽しかったです。

The movie (Code: White) wasn't half bad for date night, either!

Alright influenza, give us a few weeks to get this on board... then you a dead bug.

Yokohama has always been a Pokemon hotspot. They're IRL Vermillion City, and have the first Pokemon Center, but their presence is escalating at the moment.

On day 416 in Japan, I finally learned how to spell "怪獣" (kaijū). An arbitrary but fun milestone on the literacy journey.

Lunar New Year celebration in 横浜市の中華街。This parade is dragon but I don't mind.

とった!
Always cool to get a new library card, but this is the most excited I've been about acquiring one since I was at a similar reading level in English!

First time in the theater since... gosh, I think it was Spider-Man: Far From Home, around three years ago. Found a sub'd (vice dubb'd 日本語で) showing of Black Panther 2.

三浦のマラソンの走ることを考えております。Considering whether I'd be ready for the Miura Marathon this coming March.

Daikon 大根 radishes are awarded in lieu of medals. Lots of fun, but a shorter open course time than I'm used to in the US.
