@pkimpton Nice, I honestly downgraded from the v30 to the v20, love the the replaceable battery, IR blaster, "second" screen, and headphone jack. I don't like using BT when I have the option
@pkimpton ahhh you are using the v20! That is what I am using for the time being.
I have the Tmo version, with a 10500 mHa battery and Lineage 16 (Android 9). Battery lasts about 2.5 days with normal usage.
@pkimpton I would worry that the LG launcher would be like the HTC launcher and parts of the launcher for the lock screen. On the manufacturers version of Android, you are right, a back up before doing that is a good idea
@pkimpton That is awesome! Next thing you know, you are going to get better battery life and a faster phone! It will make the next two months or so go by so much smoother
@pkimpton looks like a good webapp, seems like a python scrapping app could be made for it. Like newpiped or musicpiped does for YouTube. Possibly my next weekends project, after all going to need music on the Librem 5.
Dig some of these stations! Thanks for the share!
@pkimpton well because Slacker Radio is some how an intrical operating system asset lol
@pkimpton man alive! The bloat is real!
I didn't flash google services with this last time and this phone has never run smoother.
@pkimpton LG tried hard but the community find a way. I just did a v20 and v30. Nether was easy. V20 probably turned out better
@gbryant good for you man!
@pkimpton yeah I don't usually uninstall via adb. I was just saying reinstalling google core service apk to a vendor phone is a nightmare.
@pkimpton you van on most phone via ADB without root but it is not for the faint of heart if you ever want it back.
Today we answer the age old question...
What boots faster:
- a Librem 5 smartphone running PureOS (GNU/Linux)
- or a run of the mill Android phone

@pkimpton Gnome is currently running Wayland, and Phosh (Librem 5 Phone environment) is/will have it.
I know screen sharing is hard to impossible to get working in Wayland. When I run meetings, I switch to a x11 based environment because of the issues me/my tools have with screen sharing.

@pkimpton I lhave not tried i3 myself yet, but I used Sway for a while. From what I understand, Sway is a direct port of i3 to Wayland.
@pkimpton Big fan of the transparent drawer. My old main launcher was Nova paid version. Seems like they didn't put new features in it for years, that is a good and bad thing.
@pkimpton put it on about an hour ago. Super fast!
Trying to change up my launcher every few weeks to make the move to Librem 5 less of a transition for my S.O. and myself. Can't wait for Phosh and other Phone Environments!
