Same. It is confusing! But even so, you could use something like Proton Mail as well or host your own.

I ditch every Google service I can that doesn't drastically effect my daily life. I search with DuckDuckGo, email is Librem One, etc. The only thing I can't really replace realistically right now is YouTube and Google Maps.

I have two cubbies full of my Blu-rays and DVDs in front of my projector. Minimal and free from being taken off a streaming service. I even have Stanger Things on Blu-ray that I found at Target!!
