So I spent the last few hours on taking pictures of cats with the rear camera of my Librem 5. Yep, that's my job now. #librem5 #gnu #linux #mobile #cat #caturday
All credit for the camera support goes to Dorota, Martin and Angus: https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/linux-next/-/issues/44#note_148408 @merge @purism
@fribbledom truly horrifying crimes would be accessing library genesis, which not only has scientific information but also university-level textbooks (gasp) searchable by author, title, edition, IBSN etc. and available from several mirrors!
I just don't know how Pearson survives really, they're basically *giving* the eBooks away
I love how @blender record the whole movie making process as showcase for new features. I can't wait till I have the time to actually learn to use the thing.

This, plus the uncertainty in scholarship/financial support from the local government really gives me second thoughts about postponing my master study until post-covid, even if I get accepted. On the other hand, getting a job working exclusively free software is equally hard, especially when I'm lacking expertise in lower-level computing and relevant theoretical knowledge.

In case you are bored and want to help the mobile phone ecosystem: gnome-usage's graph creation sucks 86% of the #pinephone CPU's lifeblood. Slash that little vampire! #gnome #linux
@debian I understand very well why Google wants to collaborate with Debian, but why would Debian want to collaborate with Google? If this is a step towards Google getting more influence over Debian, then this collaboration is bad news. Take a look at what Google is and what Google is doing to the world today. Google's near-monopoly position on a lot of things is dangerous. Please, please, stay independent from Google.
The program I'm applying to requires transcript of records (among other things) in form of a spreadsheet. Following my classmates' suggestion, I pdftotext'ed the preprinted document, preprocessed it and used sed one-liners to fill in 43 courses' grades in less than 5 minutes (including the time to look up for that one-liner). I'm so proud of myself: I saved so much time that otherwise would be wasted on manually inputing the data and managed to use it to watch how otters are S-tier mustelids.
