Does ordns.he.net indeed use an expired cert or is it my ISP attempting to MITM me? 🤔
Can anyone check ordns.he.net/dns-query please?

If you're doing a lot of work in C/C++/Rust consider using sccache to cache compilations. It's easy to set up and will save you a lot of time and a huge amount of power.

github.com/mozilla/sccache

As an example this is just a couple of hours of work on Firefox, it saved me from re-running the compiler 90% of the time.

Oh wow, Maxim Kononenko, aka Mr. Parker, has reportedly died. A talented humorist who once wrote a satirical blog all about Putin, he was also a rabidly patriotic, chauvinist z-monster who penned propaganda essays for the last decade and change. t.me/rian_ru/245509

Nowa Huta in Kraków.

Built from the ground-up as a separate city to settle workers employed in the newly built steelworks (it's even in the name, which literally means 'the new steelworks'). Designed as a poster city for Soviet propagandists. Huge, industrial, pompous. These days it's one of the most populous parts of Kraków, even though it completely didn't feel that way during my long weekend visit.

I barely scratched the surface, as severe planning mistakes were made on my end. Plus I don't like taking cliche postcard photos in harsh light. But I managed to see three different faces of this place and that counts I guess.

We start with the socrealistic face. The one that dates back to 1950s and truly feels different than whatever my peanut Warsaw brain assumed Kraków to be.

bbs.geminispace.org was launched exactly one year ago today. I wrote up a little retrospective to honor the occasion and review what has been happening on this Gemini-based bulletin board over the past year:

Musk claimed that Signal has unpatched security vulnerabilities. As a cryptography expert I’m not aware of any: instead Signal has top-notch state-of-the-art encryption which has been adopted by its competitors it’s so good.

Telegram isn’t end-to-end encrypted by default. It has no group chat encryption whatsoever. It uses a bizarre, badly designed “MTProto” protocol about which dozens of cryptography papers have documented myriad unfixed flaws.

Soviet actor Georgi Burkov in his memoirs first released in 1998 (found by Maxim Mirovich):

> The Bolsheviks need the atomic bomb to stay in power, i.e. against their own people. It won't be long before they start blackmailing the whole world, so that the whole world begs us, the people, not to make a revolution and to tolerate these ghouls and support them

Very much to the point both then and now.

Then a group led by a man who was considered loose cannon even within his own "organization", goes on to carry out an explosion completely out of their own will! And they get arrested by police! This shit doesn't make any sense at all!

In the finale there is meeting of a student union where they claim that white people are evil, at the same time, there is a Klan meeting where they claim that all non-white people are evil — a very dramatic moment…

This movie, BlacKkKlansman — it's pretty bad!
There's Detroit (2017 movie), there is Judas and the Black Messiah and there is this garbage that portrays police as black people's friends and it gets an Academy award for best screenplay? Of, FFS 🤦

There should be a new rule that all presidential candidates must get a scan to check for brain parasites that starved to death to be eligible.

Sometimes I wish just one Republican state would leave the US to found it's own country.

Just one — which could try out all the book burning, closed borders, fewer women's rights, religios politics, non-scientific medicine — so everyone could really see, what that leads to.

For years, politicians in Europe blamed everything on the EU, but I can assure you, when Britain left our union and became a country with considerable challenges, it crushed the EU blame game in many countries.
