They might be friendly when you are a part of their community, but if you start acting out of some unwritten set of rules — they will cast you out and eventually eat you alive. And if you are an outsider originally, they might be very hostile — it's indeed this and not "living in the wilderness", that poses the greatest danger 😰

I'm actually pretty damn scared of what people are outside of cities — they are envious, spiteful, vengeful. Here in Russia they will certainly rat you out to the authorities — just to make sure you don't live any better than they do. But I don't think it's any better… say in US. For me it's not Twin Peaks, but Killer Joe — and I don't even perceive it as horror/criminal thriller, I think it's pretty close to what life really is in small towns and trailer parks.

Well, yeah, kinda – but it's not some coincidence that had created this feedback loop which kept reproducing itself ever since. I think in extreme conditions hierarchies are more efficient and more resilient. And you can "fight the state with molotovs" when the state is weak — in other words perfectly balanced, incapable of defending itself when people don't want it. Problem is — those who take over might be even worse, and might enforce stronger state.

Somewhere in Japan the land might indeed be a scarce resource, but yeah, I agree! Even in Russia, where the land is the thing not even remotely in scarcity, they will likely retaliate sooner or later.
Funny thing is when they started handing out parcels of land in one of the northeastern regions (in order to pillage it later when people build something worthy of it),didn't work — probably because calling that land inhabitable would be a major stretch 🤣

This obviously means that the right balance was lost, sadly, they will only start fixing it when private l-lords will start going out of business and the market gets dominated by corporate entities @newt has mentioned: who will be able to kick people out left and right, who will also drive the prices sky-high and most people won't be able to afford renting a place — that will probably set some alarms off.
When proper balance gets lost it never gets restored in a gentle manner😩

Again, this can happen without them being the state, what if instead of living in a libertarian utopia and breeding cows, some groups join forces, take their sawed-off shotguns and start stealing your cows? And they aren't even doing anything wrong when there is no state and there are no laws 🤷

In theory they should, groups with different interests should exist, and they should be fighting each other to win your trust. I reality however, they often join forces to pillage us together — that's the definition of corrupt state.

Neither eliminating the state, nor making it all-powerful will solve this, and of course the "good guys" taking over doesn't solve it either because even the best tend to become the worst autocrats when left unchecked — checks and balances everywhere. Somewhere hanging in the fragile balance the semblance of peaceful and quiet life exists.

When someone good at "optimising costs" starts dumping toxic sludge to a lake near your home, you will need someone to be there to stop it because you simply won't cut it alone — even if you persuade your neighbours to take sawed-off shotguns an join you, the "cost-optimiser" will still have better goons than you and the boys.
Of course the owner of that marvelous enterprise might've also taken over the state itself, but it means that something went terribly wrong awhile ago.

No one's ever going to have your best interest in mind! But the state is at least legally obliged to — it does not always work like that, it can be corrupt, it can be inefficient (and imposing too much control of course makes everything inefficient), but the though that it's pure evil designed solely to fuck you over is as wrong as expecting them to bend backwards to serve you.

My remark about people not being able to come to an agreement wasn't about us, it's a separate topic. I think it it would be easier to find common ground if words like "anti-human" and "human supremacy" weren't thrown around like that.

Gabriel might've not liked the words I've used, but I agree with him — we're not "agreeing to disagree", when he presented his position in expanded form, it only confirmed that I did get him right.
If we dig deeper, I'm sure we'll find points we disagree upon, but on current level I just agree with him.

As for chickens, breeding them like that is horrible, but this is being done as they serve as source of food for humans. I am not vegan or vegetarian myself, so I think that we should move away from it, but not not at all costs — not at the expense of human lives, but by looking for other sources of proper nutrition.

I think that state control over reproductive function, stimulating childbirth not by improving quality of life and providing broader access to education, but by forcing childbirth isn't pro-human, it places humans on the same level as those poor chickens as it is human breeding on industrial scale.
Mind you, I'm not attributing any of that to Gabe, that is why I use "a lot of conservatives" — such an opinion exists and it is widespread.
