The only info missing from the alt-text is what mouse is that — and that's exactly what I'm interested in 😄
Is it some Microsoft mouse?

Time to retire my ancient Fusion license. No, wait, I'll keep it — I bet current fusion only supports latest MacOS X/OS X/macOS.

@chessert
"This comes after Broadcom announced the end of perpetual licensing, the discontinuation of the free vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) offering, and the divestiture of the End-User Computing Division after acquiring VMware one year ago" — they've made infrastructural solutions non-free, maybe they are making more money off those than from consumer-grade solutions 🤷

I almost got a family photo style picture of Puffin and Pabu stacked up on the stairs, but each cat moved in each photo. So here's both photos, with only one blurry cat and one in-focus cat each haha

Well, some people are just too fediblock-happy — it's like they are searching for the n-word or something like that in threads they would never encounter the natural way and proceed not with just blocking the person who posted something offensive, but with blocking the instance AND telling the admin of every instance they federate with to defederate them 🤯

I have to admit, I see such crowd less nowadays — they have probably left for Bull Skype

@Hyolobrika
TBH only today I learned that your instance can't federate with MastoSoc 🤪

From what I remember since the days of my digging into Avestan stuff, Aryan was even used to refer to nobility — because they didn't have to be in the sun much and could afford having more pale skin 😅
But as far as I know, these are still just hypotheses of different levels of scientific credibility.

@Hyolobrika @RustyCrab @Nepiant
Try clicking "Indo-Aryan" in the article you've linked: "Indo-Aryan peoples are a diverse collection of peoples speaking Indo-Aryan languages in the Indian subcontinent" — it's about the language rather race, genetics and all that.

Sure, the Nazi thing might be in part a reason for why the term is no longer used — but I think it's mostly to prevent people from assuming wrong things and picking up outlandish ideas without digging deeper into the subject.

@Hyolobrika @RustyCrab @Nepiant
They used to refer to themselves like that, but more in a cultural context.
Check out the link that I've posted — the term indeed was in use at some point, but since then it mostly got superseded with Proto-Indo-Iranian, Aryan is still used in cultural and linguistic context, but it's no longer used to refer to any ethnicity.

@Hyolobrika
Do you intend to get something OpenWRT-compatible?
Also, what about Permombler? You have to host your own Permöller to maintain presence on both sides of the Fedi!

They weren't. Aryans are a mythological proto-race from which real people of that region supposedly originated. Of extraterrestrial origin and not having been under the sun, their skin was presumably white, but due to breeding with… who-knows-whom, became darker with time, but this is all a myth — pseudoscience and Nazi twist of it is particularly inconsistent.
In modern science it's not used to refer to any real ever existing ethnic group: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aryan#Co

Так они его наверное на Rutube разместили! 🤭

It's the thought that counts, but not the flaming arrow ☝

Also being thrown to the lions is pretty unpleasant 🤔

@Griffith
Who do I have to kill? I need a name 😤

@unspeaker
Especially now — when some people can't handle even basic social interactions, they aren't confident they're up to this and feel vulnerable. Hell, I can remember avoiding my friend when he had lost his father — I did want to support him, but I've been in an unhealthy situation before, didn't want to go there again. Looking back I might've even done the right thing — we're still good friends, had I gone for it then and not handled it properly, it very well might not be the case.

@unspeaker
Could be the case for a lot of people — they are just scared that if they get invested too heavily, the person they support might become emotionally dependent on them, which should be okay with friends, but being handled without proper experience it might escalate into something really ugly real quick. With intent or not, but some people are manipulative, some have victim's mindset — you having good intention and not being able to hold this off, they might start leeching off you.

Yep, that meatbag in front of the screen seems kinda… redundant. And the screen itself too — just let AI do AI with other AI in a datacenter somewhere, churning through what's remaining of Earth's resources 😇
