OMG, it's three dee!!!
(not to be confused with bra size🫢)

@iska
I see! No idea why it's this way, I think the reasoning behind it might be less obvious and has to do with internal schematics, could be that using the same register for integer and IEEE 754 encoded values makes the load-store paths significantly more complex 🤷

Even the RPG launcher is a hunting weapon if you're American enough! Haven't you seen that South Park episode? 😂
(The form-factor/accessories being widely available is a good point though)

@iska
Also, as far as I can tell, the author of the linked article complains about the dual use of registers and you complain… about presence of dedicated registers? 🤷
That's kinda contradictory. What is your point?

@iska
It makes no sense to make floating point capabilities mandatory, microcontrollers aren't SBCs — some of them are very basic.
Floating point capabilities are still optional even in the latest Cortex-M cores: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARM_Cort

Good to know! That is what I expected it to be — too responsive, I'm was afraid I might not like that when I was considering to get it with a huge discount to replace my Blackwidow, but ultimately decided to get no-frills mechanical one from Coolermaster, which I still use and I like it!

Ha-ha-ha, happens on Fedi a lot! It's not the Boy, but rather the instance the Boy is on, poasties get wild at times that's why they are blocked on many instances.
But there's actually nothing of the sort in the posts I'm replying to, you can open the thread on the instance I'm on to read them: social.librem.one/@m0xee/11309
If you're getting annoyed with all the notifications, you can mute the thread or, if you wish, I can just unmention you if and when I reply again.

They just want someone more cooperative than Pooteen — replace him with Hooteen and be done with it, but I have digressed…
Russians actually stand their ground against alcohol relatively well. From what I can see — much better than many ethnic minorities from the eastern parts, for whom wide availability of alcoholic beverages becomes a really harsh blow, their traditions immediately start deteriorating 😅

Unfortunately Russians themselves don't see centralisation as a bad thing, but the worst part is that the international community doesn't see it either — just watch them, when it caves in again, western politicians will do their best to keep it in one piece, they would rather deal with some new "owner of these lands", than with dozen representatives of smaller entities.

For Russians, I think alcoholism is a symptom than a core problem, during the periods of greater political freedoms and economic prosperity, hard alcohol consumption drops significantly, it also "coincides" (not really) with growth in birth rates. But this threatens the centralisation of power. And vice-versa actually, there's a theory that Gorbachyov's anti-alcohol campaign might have contributed to the dissolution of USSR.
