I think they are same as us — want to just have a short summary of what is there. Even people with perfect vision enjoy reading summaries before delving into long reads, right?
So "a cat looking smug laying on the desk" is fine — but if the post itself had some funny story about said cat, they might always ask you the details, e.g. what colour are the cats eyes and so on.
When it's a screenshot, I provide whats' in it as text too — it doesn't take long.

A few of my posts started getting interactions months after. I think that spending five minutes on alternative text isn't worth it in any case, make it a few sentences which would help the person decide whether they should see the picture or not. I don't know why some people make alt texts about visually impaired — I don't think that any amount of text would make you enjoy the picture if you can't see it yourself. And it's not like they want to read the description of every picture.

Oh, we have this franchise here!
I didn't know they sell burgers though 🤭

Why a separate output for headphones? Does it have a built-in amp? 🤔

It only happens when you bring it to management's attention often, and I think the role of bringing it up is significantly bigger than actually doing penny-pinching shit like this. It's more about contributing to the company's success and knowing your worth than about being a cheapskate 🤷
@bjeelka
Yesterday I laughed so hard reading this 🤣
Kinda sad that none of them expect their houses to be rebuilt, and they don't even see the problem here 😫

I mean, it's still a great book, it's just a bit unusual and touches rather in-depth topics. But at least now I understand what those high-brow blog posts on Rust are about 😁
@gemlog
I agree, but idiomatic code is in most cases more readable and easier to modify if you start adding things, you don't have to rewrite things from scratch often 😂
Well, in any case, this comes with experience, but a good book might save you some time. The one I have however isn't of this sort, on the contrary, it uses things you won't normally do with Rust as examples.

No, it's KEX, the engine they use for all the FPS remasters nowadays. I did like the way they did the original Quake remaster with it: it doesn't have any graphics enhancements like most opensource engines do and mostly retains the glquake look.

I've started using Rust for my relatively small utilities, but the language is so extensive, there are dozens of ways to do the same thing and I'm not always sure I'm writing idiomatic Rust 😅

Strike back and make HER some coffee!
That will show her! 🤪

Just in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
