Yes, that isn't allowed, unlike DOB that is not only allowed, but strongly encouraged when using Wayland to note that scrolling is indeed still smooth unlike your thinking 🤪

So I can totally relate 😅

Yeah, same as "BSD subsystem", but at least it came with the distro, later they've made it downloadable separately from the App Store and at some point considered abandoning that port completely AFAIK.
I'm not sure what the current status is, I've given up on Mac OS X (or just OS X, or macOS or whatever they call it now 🤪) some time around 10.11.

Blocking the person who does such things is probably also a good idea 😄
There are a few cases when editing posts is acceptable, like fixings typos or adding a missing image description, but in most — replying to your own post is a better choice 🤷

They don't, it's just an X server that works on top of Quartz, a lot like XWayland does. They used to provide it for compatibility reasons, so you can port X11 software easily. I'm not even sure it's included by default nowadays, probably has to be installed separately.
